I want to thank Andrew for addressing one of the primary issues impacting and fueling so much misunderstanding and confusion. That issue is a massive lack of understanding of statistical reasoning and awareness of even the most fundamental and foundational statistical concepts. What he said about the government wanting you to quit after you've turned the investment on your training, but before you retire so you don't fully benefit from them, was just so real and exactly how I feel working at call centers. Didn't know many of us can relate no matter what corporation level we are in.
@1200janieАй бұрын
You are so correct about call centers! I had a manager in my first call center tell a whole room of employees that they only want us to be there 2 years to get their cost of training back then they prefer we move on. That was shocking to me then. 25 years later and many call centers that is exactly what I saw happen over and over!
@surlifАй бұрын
OH so correct on call centers from my experience!! The stories I can tell. They will even tell you that you are there to make money for the investors. So many people thought I was bonkers when i told them that in those call centers, work hard, do your job and when you are about to be good at it and deserve a promotion and a raise you will lose your job and be out frantically looking for another 10 dollar an hour job.

At 1:27:00 ish mark I was in tears. He articulated exactly how I feel as a 53 year old man. I am so done with conforming and being loyal to employers who took me for granted. I also immediately thought of the Pink Floyd song " Another Brick in the Wall "... In fact the entire album. I understand the need for our US Government to do what it did ( and does ) to protect itself, but man it sucks to figure out that we are really expendable. The kids in elementary school were punished for refusing to stay in line and follow the rules. They were the ones administrators should have talked to instead of punishing them. We saw what the consequences were so we conformed. It is what it is. Am I less happy than I would be if I was the kid who non-conformed, nobody knows.

I've felt that way since I was in my 20s. I'm 59, and years ago I abandoned the pursuit of working in conventional employment for the same reasons you express. Ugh 😑 He doesn’t understand what anti social personality disorder is. This is part of the problem of of the term ASPD- it’s a misleading title, some psychiatrists want the name changed, It is not about being anti social and not liking people. It is about manipulating people for your own gain with no conscience or remorse of hurting innocent people in the process, pathological lying, entitlement, no empathy, no morals, not being able to bond with others etc. This is so frustrating that he either doesn’t know, or is being purposefully misleading. He also said that sociopaths are always loyal to someone or some thing more than themselves - that’s not true. They might act loyal in order for personal gain, but it is always self-serving, it’s not usually the kind of loyalty he’s talking about.

Being with my ex narc for the past 8 yrs. made me observe this very pattern. I think they wanted to feel very important in a way that is disturbing. Instead of building trust with their intimate partners, they destroy the trust that they built with you (in that case lying when they tried to put you in their pedestal). Once they have a committed partner, they can’t stand being loved authentically by one person. Instead they go on and prey on other women that is susceptible to their love bombing. My ex narc was a compulsive pursuer in a relationship. He would go back and forth to the women he were involved before or try to meet women in complicated situation so that going public isn’t an option while having you as their main supply. In the end they destroy the very person that loved them. They are like toddlers testing your love for them. Showing and telling them you love them isn’t enough, they will cheat on your face to make you feel inadequate even if you are more than they deserve. They want to test your love for them so they keep hurting you and when you have enough of their abuse, you leave. Then they tell you, ‘you never loved me because you abandon me’. Well in fact it’s their actions and narcissistic behavior that made you leave or in other cases they discard you and will give silly reasons of the discard. Mine would use, ‘she’s crazy’, ‘she’s a nega-star’, ‘she insults me’, ‘she cheated on me’ et al. So with this pattern of infidelities and emotional abuse (who knows what else) it’s better to walk away. I did walk away and is now rebuilding my life with our daughter. We are struggling financially because I’m not earning enough to provide for my daughter but now we get to laugh and bring with us sunshine every day. No lies, no abuse and no fake love. We only live once, forgive yourself and move forward but never forget the lesson that narc abuse taught you. That is to respect yourself to walk away from what’s hurting and destroying you. That you deserve a life of solitude, happiness and love. Hugs*** :) Additionally I hired a private detective Metaspyhub@gmail. com. Once I knew what the narc was up to, it got easier to get over that lying, cheating, sack of doo doo, loser. I didn’t need closure from the narc, I paid for it. Best money I EVER spent!

Andrew is so freaking intelligent and so geopolitically aware that every interview is like a master class in everything you never knew you needed to know. I was slightly surprised that M and J didn’t wholly research Andrew before having him on. Andrew is pragmatic and Mayim kept asking purely emotional and biased questions ie feminism, Judaism, trump, liberalism, spies having sex, lies, and several other disappointingly simplistic questions. Andrew’s answers are so complex that it takes deep active listening to grasp the levels of what he’s saying. I’d love to see him on your show again with a whole slew of new questions.

His voice over in the show states: “People with happy families don't become spies. A bad childhood is the perfect background for covert ops. You don't trust anyone, you're used to getting smacked around, and you never get homesick.” If you haven’t seen the show (it’s from 2007) and you’re into espionage, action packed, car chases, explosions, the underdog who fights for justice, you should watch it. As a teacher with a political science background, I am sure of a few things. The American education system is designed to promote conformity and indoctrination of children, thus promoting the status quo of the government and economic system. It is in the best interest of the ruling elite to have a population educated enough to be useful, but not so much that they are a threat to the system.

I really did love this episode…first I’ve watched. Wonderful guest and conversation. Mayim is clearly intelligent, witty and clever. Even so, I probably won’t watch more (unless there’s a great guest) because it really is so brazenly clear that she is VERY biased in ways that aren’t appealing for me personally. That being said, I did appreciate the effort she made to be as respectful and open as she could despite her inherently clear POV. Great episode.

Such a fascinating video. I learned that I need to stop talking so much about myself 😁😁

The eye movement thing actually comes from Neurolinguistic Programming educations, I just want to point out besides the difference is writing/reading directions and dyslectia, some other types of neurodiversity might also not adhere to the rule of thumb.

This interview is so good, it's guaranteed the CIA will be writing him a letter of concern very soon 👀

I would have loved to be a spy fly on the wall when Jonathan and Mayim talked alone after this interview 😊
