Future contributed the owl-like ad libs in the song...the "ooo-ooo, uh ooo ooo-oo". His die hard fans like to claim he wrote the song for her, which is a lie. They dated from 2012-2014 and broke up a few months after baby Future was born. Future was not the household name he is now while they were dating. He was on the come-up after achieving some local success around Atlanta at the time for his work with the Dungeon Family.

Long story short: Ciara and Future dated at the time, they had a baby, then he cheated on her so they split and Future was a deadbeat dad and didn't visit the child (he has many baby mamas like over 10 by now), then Ciara got with Russel and he was good to Ciara's son and Ciara praised him as being a great stepfather which made Future angry and started a feud with both Russel and Ciara claiming to be the "real dad" despite not visiting or doing any of the dad responsibilities. Their feud was like 5-6 years and mostly from Future's side.
