Cicada Invasion

So, just a matter of 2 weeks from finding the handful of cicada nymphs under a rug in the back garden (link to video at 16 seconds), I have now seen more growth, not only have the nymphs hardened their skins to a shell, some have left their shells and become adult cicadas, though not many yet, at least not that I have seen, and no singing from them yet. I will keep you informed as we go along, but I have been informed that the change from nymphs with shells to fully fledged adults is fairly quick and numerous.

They are interesting things. The singing can now be heard in the house, over the fans.
