I’ve always had the same feelings as well on the Dempsey. Have had them with Angels and geos before and nothing. Recently set up a 120 gallon and added a 3” Dempsey, Red Tiger Mota, Green Terror and a random OB Peacock that someone gave me. Figured id grown them out for a few months before i moved them. Two days in and I’ve found the random Dempsey that is the Hell Spawn lol. Gorgeous fish but a complete Psychopath. Only one that he fears is my Red Tiger Mota. Guess there’s always that one.

Hi there guys, love your fish and informative posts. Ive found a Peacock at the fish store that Ive fallen for. He has a crooked mouth 😃 unsure exactly what he is, deep blue head some yellowing and darker vertical stripes. However....this means getting more tankmates, and another tank 😮 oh oops 😊. That size are priced quite high but the 4 inch ones not so bad. Would you say this would work ok? Im hopefull I can sex correctly to just get males to help aggression. Im not confident though. Should I just wing it and see? I will have them in a tank of their own 190lt, but I have 5 adult Electric Blue Accara in a same size tank, could I bring some into there if I have bullying issues? 10 Peacocks to that size tank less or more ?? Any assistance appreciated. Thanks from Australia x

Question: How does one reseal a tank? I had a 55 gallon cichlid tank spring a leak overnight. The next day I unfortunately had to donate all of my cichlids. That was a month ago and a very sad day for me. 😢 Concerning the tank, it’s a bowfront corner tank. I have no idea where the leak was. It wasn't big. Should I reseal the tank? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks for any advice. I feel lost. The tank leaked just under 5 years since I bought it for my 40th birthday. I just turned 45 last week and my family is ready to bring a tank back into the space.

I would be careful on adding more to the 90 gallon. If the jack dempseys ended up being a pair, be prepared for the jack to fight and kill anything that gets near them. They'll claim that whole tank! You could try adding a single H. Carpintis aka electric blue Texas cichlid. Males get up to 10-12 inches as females get 6-8 inches. The empty tank, if it's a 75 gallon, you could a small group of 6 firemouths as they are a shoaling cichlid. But they are very active. That's until they pair. Lots of rocks and hiding spots for them with high flow waters

@@tig735 lmao. Michael Schumacher knows how to drive! I added a precaution of placement of 2 unsexed jack dempseys that may pair if one is male and female or one maybe an a-hole. Add another species to the mix that come from a aggressive background later on, MAY endure issues. Then have a ample active idea for the other tank. I enjoy their content a lot, but it's just an opinion of what may happen especially not adding everyone at once, meaning getting the others he wants as mates.
