Thanks for the translation. I think the songs in Umineko gave away quite a lot of information, so I find interesting to look into those of Ciconia as well. Though the only interesting bit I can find in this is "make up for that umprecedented love". If the song refers to Miyao maybe that bit can be interpreted as the relationship between his parents (if being ciconia born counts as umprecendented). At that point we get an important bit of information about Miyao's mother, also. And given Miyao shares quite some traits with certain antagonist of a previous entry besides the unsual birth circumstances... well. It seems worth looking into.

Extremely unfort for me that I had to live with them, but in the end it gave me perspective that I wouldn’t have otherwise so I’m grateful. I dunno. *Spoiler* I saw Chloe being evil from a mile away, it made too much sense.
@Gir5584 жыл бұрын
Well, there's Evil Chloe and regular Chloe. Miyao and Meow prove that people in Ciconia can have very heavily disconnected split personalities. Personally, at this point I think Chloevil being the traitor in the AOU is way too obvious. If Ryukishi is throwing something that obvious at us in part 1 its probably a red herring. Regular Chloe might be, but even that feels potentially too obvious. Chloevil being thrown at us as a way to distract from Chloe being the real traitor feels... too easy. These are both theories I made in part 1, and if When They Cry has taught me anything its that basically everything I believe in part 1 is probably going to be wrong. Doesn't stop me from thinking, of course! To stop thinking is to lose, and I don't plan to do that this time, but it does make me question everything I see. Some part of me actually suspects Meow the most. I have no concrete reason to, just a few hunches. Some of them are grounded in the story... others in Ryukishi's apparent sadism. A few of my legitimate suspicions though are as follows: 1. Meow explicitly can shut out Miyao and act without his knowledge. We don't know if the opposite is true. Its a small detail, but Ryukishi loves dropping small innocuous details and then making them super important later. Missing one in Umineko is what caused me to struggle with the solution so much. If Meow knew everything Miyao did, but Miyao sometimes didn't know what Meow was up to she could be an incredibly powerful asset. 2. Building off of my first point, there was a point where someone was killed when only Miyao and Rethabile should (as far as we know anyway) have known where he was. Rethabile is too easy to suspect, and in many ways it makes the least sense. Why would she even tell Miyao if she'd been planning that the whole time? Miyao can't be ruled out, of course, but I have my doubts. Ryukishi has made use of decoys before, but so far Miyao seems to fall firmly into the "detective" role of this story, making him being a part of the conspiracy unlikely until something raises suspicion of the validity of that role. On the other hand, Meow could potentially have had access to that information. Not only that, but the average reader may have forgotten to even consider that, and she's so incredibly innocuous and difficult to suspect with her character... it really makes me even more suspicious of her. 3. Meow does not, to my memory, ever show signs of having any idea about the Other Miyao, and she certainly is never the one that interacts with them. This is built upon other theories outside the scope of this comment, but its my belief that the Other Miyao is an enemy of the Three Kings. If I'm right about that, then Meow never interacting with the Other Miyao despite sharing the same brain is potentially suspicious. Meow could be a powerful weapon to use against Miyao, after all. It could be that the Other Miyao is intentionally not revealing themself to an agent of their enemy. On the other hand, again, its part one. Everything I know right now is probably wrong on some level, so I'm certainly not saying you're wrong or I'm right. Even if either of us are right its probably for the wrong reasons anyway.
@Rudy_35124 жыл бұрын
@@Gir558 Yeah I have to agree 100% with you there. Something triggered in the fight and Chloevil appeared, remember what "Other Miyao" said to Miyao, there was an 8MS capable of lowering the intelligence of everyone when the mysterious objects were going to fall to the ground and corrupt various 8MS, I think this was the trigger for Choevil to appear atleast. What really set me off as being suspicious of Meow was when she told Miyao not to go through with his thought of rebelling but maybe this is also too obvious I dunno. Also, so far Koshka is a complete badass.
@Gir5584 жыл бұрын
@@Rudy_3512 Well, its also important to remember that rebelling was potentially quite dangerous, and not only does Meow (as far as we know) care about Miyao and see him as a brother, they also share a body. Keeping him safe is something that she should be very invested in considering that, so its possible she did that entirely for practical or emotional reasons, rather than due to being the traitor. It is still a valid point though, for sure. An agent of the Three Kings would have every reason to discourage that, and it is good to keep in mind for the future. But knowing When They Cry games, its also best to look at both sides of things and remember there's always multiple possibilities in most situations. In Umineko we were even tricked with Red Truths that were either vague, or only literally or metaphorically true, rather than both. In the end, the important thing isn't to discard theories that seem obvious, or dismiss them because its only part 1 and you're probably wrong, but rather to question them. Why are they so obvious? What other explanations could there be? Why do I think this is true, and why might it not be? Conversely, why do I think this *isn't* true, and why might it be? Most importantly, don't seek to confirm or deny them. Looking for evidence that supports your idea is fine, but you should be looking just as hard for things that refute it, and of course looking for information that may lead to entirely new theories. Confirmation bias is a dangerous thing, and in my experience Ryukishi likes to exploit it.
