This is the new City of Culture in Galicia. The value of such an extravagant undertaking has been questioned in times of economic crisis, but it is an extraordinary place. Although it should be seen by anyone traveling to Santiago, it is somewhat out of the way and requires an effort to reach especially on foot. A hotel, better transportation, and more frequent exhibitions, theater, and concerts, particularly an outdoor venue for the summer, will help ensure the project succeeds despite the financial hardships it has required.
