Thank you for this. I was trying to fix some insensitive keys actually, which is why i was looking for a way to disassemble it. Found out the issue. This has been great help!

did u buy the prebuilt or the barebone? the barebone has plastic film in the pcb which makes it hard to press switches and can cause bent pins on the switches

hello @mygamingdiaries did you buy the prebuilt or the BB? this keeb has plastic film inside that may block and bent some switches, resetting the switches and unbent if necessary

What did you use to pry open the casing?
@reng.262Ай бұрын
hello, I didn't have the right tools at that time when i modded the keeb so i just used a falt head screw driver,,,leaves a dent on the sides of my case ( to be expected 🥴),,,I also used other alternatives such as guitar picks and cards but the hardness of the flat head did opened it,,, you should try using prying tools( the materials are mostly plastic but I think it will do the job). After I opened the case, I trimmed the clips inside which holds the top case and the bottom case for easy access of the case for future modding MAINLY ON THE BOTH ENDS OF THE CASE (annoying to pry😑). Happy modding :)

Thank you! This thing was sort of a pain to get open without worrying about marring the sides lol

Do you use this keeb often? I wanted to get this on A-zon since it's on sale there. But it has really bad reviews. Mostly quality issues, switch failures, hot swap sockets coming off, etc. Quite concerning.
@reng.262Ай бұрын
Yes, I used it on rotation on my other boards, mostly using it for encoding/typing as I liked the sound it produced paired with the icesoul switches from leobog...I also carry it when I go to work. Honestly, with the accessories included in this board, it is a hit for me, but because of some QC issues that I have heard about, maybe because of the way they install switches or maybe something else. I have had soft spot with the CIDOO brand as I have also bought their alice CIDOO ABM066 and still works fine until today.

@@reng.262 I got a keeb by a brand called Ozone. Its called Ozone Tactical. Its a 65% keeb with RGB and bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately not hot swappable, but the pre-installed red switches are fine. Also comes with software for customization and its easy to open and mod. Im using it on my second PC, so its not my main keeb, so it will do. For €19 it was a steal and I really cant complain.

Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know how separate the board and the plate? I saw 4 screws but have not figured out how to open them up
@reng.2626 ай бұрын
hi, thanks for reaching out, yeah you can unscrew them, the 4 screws are the ones holding the fr4 plate and the pcb...but for my experience, the fr4 plate and pcb is already great and doesn't need modding because it already has foam inside, you may add PE foam mod between the pcb and the fr4 plate
@LeRosTV6 ай бұрын
@@reng.262 Thanks, I was trying to add pe foam between them. And I was an idiot, I was wondering how do I unscrew these 4 screws, but in reality those 4 screws do not keep the pcb and plate together at all, their purpose were for me to add 4 more screws(?) on top of them to hold the pcb and plate, because there is foam (the thick one) between pcb and plate, a single screw is not long enough to go through both. And I figured out later that it was the switches that I did not pulled out that hold pcb and plate together. Haha
@laineylois6 ай бұрын
I have to weigh in here - I had to unscrew because I needed to fix the couple of dead keys (some Amazon reviews say this and while it’s a great keyboard sometimes it does happen) It’s now fixed and I have a great modded keyboard, thank you again OP!

Great job man, sounds very nice on video! :) Did you get it the way you wanted the first try? I broke 2 of 8 tabs of my keeb (Epomaker EP75) since I wasn't yet satisfied and it was the 50th time I had to re-open it... lol

Yes, I only accomplished this sound on my first attempt at modding it. In actuality, the plumber's mod outperforms the holee mod because... First of all, it's far simpler to do... Additionally, it almost completely closes the gap between the steel wire and the stabs, leaving little to no rattle in the finished product.
@AquaPeet7 ай бұрын
@@reng.262That's awesome! I think I need stronger plumbers tape cause my stab wire pushed through it and it got loose and it became too resistant :)
@reng.2627 ай бұрын
Teflon/plumber's tape are typically too thin. After some experimenting, I noticed that the plumber's tape was scratched by the wires' contact with the stabs making it not effective for a long run, since the lube also adds to the tape a thin appearance, I simply rolled mine thicker.

How did you force the side in 1:33? 🥹
@reng.2624 ай бұрын
Hello, sorry for the late reply, I also Struggle when prying the sides, the plastic hump thingy that is holding the sides are too long and wide so I just pulled it upwards with force while the my other hand is pulling the other frame away from it, you can try and trim the side hump thingy if you want to reopen the case for other modifications, just try not to over trim as it is the only way the top case and bottom case hold each other. So to summarize it, strong hands with force while trying not to break the frame,,,I'm very sorry as this is the only reply and solution I can advise. Anyways have a great day
