For the next one you could go for something slightly different and check out the Black Mist match-fixing scandal which enveloped Japanese baseball (and motorcycle racing to a lesser extent) in 1969-70. 10 NPB players were banned for life, some teams were sold due to their owners wanting nothing to do with them, and many fans abandoned the sport altogether.
