I rarely smoke cigars inside a lounge, but on one particular occasion overseas an elegant fellow politely asked if others wanted his rather smokey nub extinguished before he departed, and he masterfully suffocated the cherry in the ashtray (gently pressed it down perpendicularly until the smoke ceased). I found that classy.

Are we referring to bethune? Why doesn't anyone want to speak about it? It is something we know was done in the past but why so hush today?
