Cigarette boats are named after the offshore powerboat built by Don Aronow back in the '70s. It was named after a famous speedboat of the prohibition era which was used to smuggle booze into the USA. They called it, “The Cigarette” because they felt - at the time - that it looked like a cigarette.

Girls rock the inlet too though. Blue top legend was hot. Haulover is rough. If you go slow youre getting beat to shit taking waves over the bow. And to you it sounds like a painful beating but being on a cigarette you dont feel a thing. Theyre built like tanks to cut through big waves and go fast. If you had a Corvette or Ferrari you wouldnt do 65 on the interstate Side note, I do understand it was a joke. Just putting a explanation for those that dont know

This must have taken quite awhile to compile. I don't think any of the other channels have dedicated an entire video to one make of boats... that made this one special. Pure ear porn! While the outboards have their place, there is nothing like the sound of the inboard engines with the bravo drives.

Freeman, Sea Vee, Boston Whalers, Sea Hunter, HCB but what really matters is the captain. I have seen the best hulls in bad situations just because the captain was doing it wrong

@@BoatZone Have you been on each of those in rough water or just watching them go past? Its a completely different story watching one drive by vs being on the boat and feeling it. Cigarettes are built to cut through waves smooth for the passengers and drivers, while maximizing power, speed, minimum drag, even the engine placement and weight are factored in. You can comfortably run 90 through 3 footers on a cigarette. Thats just what theyre made to do. It sounds bad when it smacks through the chop from where youre sitting but inside the boat its cushy, you hardly even feel it. Apache are the only ones built to do that better than cigarette and they have gone to cuba from key west in 90 min through 10ft waves(world record) The midnight and nor tech type center consoles are built nice and cut through, they look super smooth going past haulover. But being on one in the open ocean you get beat to shit. In my experience anyway
