There are always losers out there that don't appreciate talent when it is presented, this is true brilliance, Cilla was such an amazing singer, not like the rubbish around now, and she was such a nice girl as well. R.I.P. Cilla...........

I am delighted that a new generation is discovering and appreciating the likes of Cilla and all the other brilliant singers and groups from the 60s. It gives me hope for mankind in these dark days....

She starts off so meek and mild, and then, "with your hand resting in mine...." she demonstrates just how powerful her voice is, with that emotion attached to it. Also, I wanted my hair done just like that when I was entering high school.

As a lonely teenager I hoped that somewhere, somehow a girl would feel this way about me. I had to wait a few more years but the wait was worth it. I can happily say that such a girl found me and we have had a wonderful life together.

Woah! The decrescendo at the end was amazing, like a gradual wilting of the volume, power and weight of the tone. A great singer.

This song I first heard, I was about 8,i was sitting in the lounge at home the net curtains were blowing and it was a summer's day, it blew me away made me cry it always stayed with me, so emotional ❤

1964/65 *Just out of high school me* spent many nights in "teen clubs" and this was one of those songs you waited for so you could actually hold her in your arms ... This lady, Dusty Springfield, Leslie Gore and The Righteous Brothers were just what you wanted. Cilla was a "little lady with the big voice" and was appreciated for her talent and songs that let you *polish your belt buckle*

they do if you look at BGT. But, they let themselves get inspired by todays music which is not always good. I just heard a woman, 57yo, sing this song on BGT. She was super. I have often wondered why nobody take up the great songs of the 60ies by Dusty and Cilla.

Loved this when it was released…I was 10 years old and had just bought Juliet by the Four Pennies which was number 1 in May 1964

Juliet by the Four Pennies was a wonderful song, I was 14 years old then and have great memories of that time. Music and groups were so different from the past and Britain ruled the music scene.

1:29 For years I couldn't figure out what she sang: "If our love ceases to be". Then along came the internet and I could research song lyrics. I was the same with Lesley Gore's "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" when I didn't know what she sang with "That's how this refrain goes".

Actually, though this is good, I prefer the instrumentation of the single release - it suits the punchiness of the vocal better, IMO, without intruding. Here the brass (?) intrudes, and the violin stabs are a bit swamped.
