I love that Craig just rips his script cards and chooses to have an actual conversation because he senses Cillian is intelligent and they'll have a good time; plus, Craig is an actual fan of the show, has lived in the UK, and they both have a general knowledge of the areas in question (or at least can BS their way through it). This was a gem to find!

by whom? I don't think he's in any way underrated by the anyone who's ever scene him act. I don't think I've ever heard anything less than rave reviews of his acting prowess. Even the ambivalent respect his craft. He stole the show in that Batman movie and he was only on-screen for one scene. Most people don't know his name but as soon his face comes up they know exactly who he is. I know I was a huge fan of his work for years & my brain only permanently stored it 3 years ago.

The fact that Cilian was so open and relaxed in this interview, even though he is really shy, shows how great Craig was and how much he is missed. Also, don't know if people noticed, but he intentionally didn't do the psychoanalysis and awkward pause things as he knew Cilian was a bit shy and would have felt awkward. That's also what made Craig amazing as he knew how to adapt and improvise according to the guest

The problem with Colbert is that he think he's more important than the guest or try too much to be funny, moreover when they are British, Irish or Scottish, but this was also a problem for Letterman. Eh Cillian is too good for that role would like to see him in a more dramatic lead actor with big directors like Paul Thomas Anderson, Chris Nolan, and Steven Spielberg. The biggest missed opportunity for James Bond was Idris Elba, he would have been perfect for Bond.
@joyjr91_
@joyjr91_ 2 жыл бұрын
@@Tonycillian5Bond is supposed to be a white man. That’s how Ian Fleming wrote him. Diversity is good but you should not change a character like that cause it would have a negative impact on the origin of the character & is disrespectful to the author. Bond was written in the 1950s as a British spy with a daredevil & misogynistic personality. No black man was allowed in that profession back then.

@@joyjr91_ bullshit. M could change from man to woman back to man without issiue, moneypenny was also white and black. And Q turned from old to being young again. Character transformation isnt a bad thing if the actor does a well enough job. Ian Fleming doesnt live anymore. Craigs era alredy did many changes to the bond characteristics, aswell were dalton and Brosnan (which is my favorite) very diffrent from the original Sean connery and from Roger moore who has done the most bond movies yet. It would be disrespectful to the audience, the TRUE Bond fans to just let that role die over nonesense. The only true barrier i see is James bond being pictured by a female actor and thats solely because of the name, they would have to change the name and i wouldnt watch Jasmine Bond or something, cause that wouldnt make sense. I hope the people in Charge for the Bond Franchise are not as close minded as you are, because i for one would like to see some more Bond movies and see which ever actor it will be after Craig. Change is going to happen to everything, fighting change only leads to loss and destruction, great shows have ended because they were not able to go with the change.

To me he was one of those charismatic actors I would see now n then in random movies since forever, and after the "Inception" I def.memorized his name, only after Peaky Blinders I completely "fell in love". He deserves recognition and a legendary status.

@@bakeryssoul F.y.i Craig Ferguson doesn't do interviews. He always said that he's genuinely interested in people and just wants to have normal conversations with them. He also doesn't have a script or a card with questions. Every guest on show knows that and is prepared. Also, don't forget this is a show after midnight. Craig Ferguson is a comedian so he tries to keep things light. Cillian Murphy is a very private person and I'm sure he a good reason to come to this particular show.

okay this interview just goes to show that it is not Cillian being disinterested in interviews that leads him to one word answers and staring at walls. It is interviewers being disinteresting and asking ill- informed questions about irrelevant topics.

I guess you never watched Craig Ferguson before. This is not an interview , its a conversation between an irishman and a scotsman. And questions abous irrelevant topics are what makes this guy different. If you want the same staged interviews where both the guest and host know exactly what the questions and answers will be go watch jimmy kimmel or fallon because Craig Ferguson is only for people with a sense of humour and sadly my friend you dont have one.

@@AnakinSkywalker-dr3gt I think Jamie was actually complimenting this interview, not complaining about it. I believe Jamie is saying Cilian is engaging with the right host (no one word answers and staring at walls in this interview). I might be wrong though but look at it from this point of view.
