Sam Neil was born in Omagh in Northern Ireland and lived there until he was 7 years old. Hence his Northern Irish accent is both genuine and would have come naturally to him.

I don't think that living there for his first 7 years makes much of a difference. If he lived there until 14 it would, but 7 it's not really much. And I say so because I met people who spent their first 10 years in a place and in their 30s they have troubles to remember that language. Remembering an accent it's even harder in my opinion unless he is naturally good at accents as some people do. Or he watches a lot of Irish shows
@CC-rx4nv
@CC-rx4nv 7 ай бұрын
@@gigia95421I disagree. I was born and lived in Taiwan for the first 8 years of my life. I still speak fluent Mandarin Chinese where people can tell I’m from Taiwan and will not confuse me from someone from mainland or anywhere else like Hong Kong or Singapore We then moved to Bs As Argentina where we lived for 5 years. So I’m also fluent in Spanish. One can also tell that the Spanish I speak is from Argentina because it’s unique and different sounding than the rest of Latin America.
@gigia95421
@gigia95421 7 ай бұрын
@@CC-rx4nv I guess it depends on the single case as well as I know people who spoke a language until 10, they migrated and lost the majority of that language. I also know adults who migrated and after 20 years of living in the new country, they couldn't speak their native language fluently anymore. Some people pick up accents easily after one week in a place, some other don't.

Cillian Murphy’s always seemed like such an amazing talk show host. He just gets so casual and comfortable, and the guests get the same way. It’s like they don’t hand him a script to follow, just give him a general direction for the show to go towards and he slowly guides that way through conversation.
