Although his affect is common among very introverted people, I would argue that his type of introversion is rather rare, but perhaps not as rare among the great people we often celebrate. Cillian Murphy did amazing as Oppenheimer; he is now part of the list of Best Actor winners. He is also the 2nd villain from the Nolan’s Batman trilogy to win an Oscar.

Should be 3. Liam Neeson not winning for Schindlers list still baffles me to this day and consider it one of the greatest acting performances of all time

So well deserved! He's always so humble. And this might seem like a small thing, but I think it's lovely he took the time to shake hands with every man on stage.

Not an actor more deserving than Cillian this year honestly. Stunning perfomances from a plentiful bunch of actors, but Cillian Murphy definitely had the edge. Wonderful perfomance, as always from him.

Best leading actor performance of the year for sure. Defiantly deserved this and every accolade he received for playing J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Really nice seeing Colman Domingo get nominated, I feel he'll win one eventually. Outstanding actor.

It’s funny, for me, the first thing I ever saw him in was “Fear the Walking Dead,” which has had such up-and-down writing and overall inconsistent quality throughout its run, but it always felt like “that dude,” whose name I admittedly didn’t even know for many seasons, seemed like he was on a different level than everybody else. Like how an elite high school athlete just looks like they’re playing a different game than everybody else, he stole basically every scene he was in, even when often given some pretty mediocre lines to deliver. It’s awesome to see him having come so far to now being introduced by Forest Whitaker and recognized alongside so many legends of the profession.

A leading man? Where? I hope you don't mean that disgusting thing last year. Leading men have leading ladies and Fraser hasn't had one for over a decade (onscreen or off). Paid escorts don't count.

It's not often that a person is hand's down the unequivocal BEST actor in any given year. This year-- it wasn't even a contest. Oppenheimer was hands down the best movie of the year-- and the cast was absolutely insanely great.

We all usually remember Cillian Murphy for Thomas Shelby, but i fell in love for his performances when he masterfully did Dr.Crane/Scarecrow and Robert Fisher in Inception. Cillian is the type of actor like Phillip Seymour Hoffman: The Chameleon, he becomes the paper in screen
