Mike, what a grand story and marvelous manner you possess to protect Sharps' "Quigley" name and then provide it back to them as you have in the way that you did. You are truly a fine "Texas Gentleman" sir. - mkh

Mike, you have no idea how much I love these stories. You are a good man for letting them have the name. I saw recently, where the Shiloh Sharps Company is for sale. Maybe you should buy it ?? :)

I own two Pedersoli 1874 Sharps and one happens to be a Quigley in .45-70. What a Beautiful gun and thank you for bringing it to market
@NormanBraslow-nh2tz Жыл бұрын
It's not a Quigley. Only those made by Shiloh are. Sorry. .

Great history lesson, the Sharps lives on, mighty gracious of you to allow Shiloh to jump back in there for a fraction of the patent value of the Quigley name ! Most of us would have told them to "go pound sand" since they came to you through a lawyer. You are a better man than me, Mike.....

I just got one of your guys 1874 sharps, went to cabelas yesturday not expecting anything new to show up as i bought a Henry 44mag lever action rifle the day before.. And wow this massive 1874 sharps was in the used gun display. Its the quigley version with the 34 inch barrel and the plate that opens up on the rear of the stock. It also had a 6x malcom scope on it which is a $400 scope. The gun may have been used, but it looked brand new.. Had no scratchs, no scuffs ,no finger prints, and the barrel and entire gun were clean.. I bet someone bought it, put a scope on it and fired it only a handful of times. It was $1800 , but i got cabelas to go down to $1700.. thats about new price, but with a $400 scope and $70 scope mount, i got a $2200 rifle for $1700. Im extremely happy.. everyone in cabelas was swarming me as well, wondering the heck that massive rifle was lol. Love it.. I made a video on my channle of it if anyone cares Funny thing is the night prior i actually watched quigley down under.. LOL.. Mine is made by Armi Sport i think even though its a Cimirron. I wish i knew what year it was made. MY ONLY complaint is i wish the stock was better quality, its a bit light in color and feels "light" if that makes sense

Great story....I have wanted a rifle like that since I saw the movie as well. I have looked at the Shiloh sharps but and considered it. However after hearing your story and watching some reviews on KZbin about your rifles I think I'm going to give you my business. Thanks Mike , I admire a man that gets off his behind and gets it done.

I wish I could be around such amazing historic guns. And thank you for all you have done for historic firearms. I have been into modern guns until last year. I bought one of your Single Action Armys and quickly bought a 1860 Army after that. And I truly fell in love with historic firearms. I just bought my first original firearm. a Colt Single Action Army from 1882. Thank you for keeping these guns alive. I hope to get alot more.

Well Mr. Harvey, I have a few corrections on your video. The Quigley rifle was in the old Shiloh Sharps black & white catalog. I had ordered the fist Quigley rifle for a customer from Shiloh Sharps in 1993. The price for the Quigley Rifle at the time was $2675. It was not until 1995 that the first Italian copies appeared on the market. Also, Shiloh Sharps made three rifles for the movie in 1989. With exception of the finish on one of them, they were all identical. They all had Hartford Collars. I'll be glad to send you pictures of them. Pedersoli did not start making Sharps Rifles until about 1997. Well, at least not under their own name. Uberti offered them about two years earlier, in 1995. You will also notice that shape and cut of the forearm and Pewter Tip of your Pedersoli Sharps look quite different. Other changes had to be made as well in order not to violate existing rights of the original manufacturer. Just look at the almost splinter forearm of your Pedersoli Sharps, and compare it with your original Sharps. It is quite obvious, don't you think? It is a nice story anyway, though.

Hmm... Buffalo ya say....call Dunton Ranch in Kingman AZ. They'll hook ya up for a buffalo hunt on their spread. Take good care of ya. Id link, but i think YT would delete this. Easy to find with a google search. One minor request....bring a camera... Lol love to see that old sharps do its job. Lol

Thats a canned hunt right... opinions may vary if thats true hunting. Not being critical just saying.
@Rumblestrip4 жыл бұрын
It is and it isnt. They got quiet a bit of property the critter can roam. Pretty rough stuff a lot of it. Enough ground i dont really see a difference between them or a national forest. Either way, hunting "wild" buffalo is illegal. Take your pick... Get arrested, or get a legal hunt on private land with a private animal that's lived on that property and not been fussed with in a while. Just sayin @John Cooper
@Sw00per_actual4 жыл бұрын
@@Rumblestrip True on the legal part. I guess it is a hunting experience vs. Fair Chase. My opinion has been swayed by the Boone and Crockett Club

The Quigly Sharps wa NOT made by It was Shiloh. The Shiloh is better made, better fit, finish, better wood, and they are more historically accurate. And they shoot better.
