It is a deserved loss when you play a card that fucks you over. It's like playing Imperial Order in your deck of mostly spells when your opponent plays almost no spells. It's like playing Gravity Bind in your deck of mostly level 4's or above when your opponent is on level 3's and below. It's like playing Anti Spell Fragerence in your own Pendulum deck. Gage continously shot himself in the foot until he bled out, and lost in this episode. It is 100% deserved.

It didn't affect the game bc Cimo didn't draw into it, but Dragon Zombie is not a legal card. It wasn't available in any of the sets so far, only Starter Deck Yugi. I assume there was confusion since Crawling Dragon is the card in Metal Raiders. The next strongest lv3 is Gilasaurus (1400 Rare, from LON) or The All-Seeing White Tiger (1300 Common, from PSV). Next set has Frontier Wiseman to replace it (also 1600).

This is 100% my mistake; when I was building the deck, I saw Armored Zombie and Crawling Dragon right next to one another, and I made a leap thinking it was Dragon Zombie. Thankfully, it didn’t end up mattering. I honestly probably would’ve just played The-All Seeing White Tiger instead, since it can still hit over Dream Clown and under Gravity Bind.

Gage, chain energy is a floodgate that effects both players. The second game, you activated it when Cimo had a board and you didn't. It's like activating vanity's emptiness against your opponent's board when you control no monsters. That being said, I suspect that this might have been on purpose. Better to let Cimo have a win than let him keep banning all your good cards; and perfect set to lose because a large portion of the wheel won't give him anything good. Hmm.

As much as I like Gage winning just because he got shit stomped last season, it's obvious Cimo is just better at deck building. He recognizes the threats in Gage's deck, predicts what he is going to play, and then counters accordingly. He absolutely deserved to win this week. This is the kind of deck building Gage would never come up with even when he knew exactly what Cimo was going to be on. The most important thing about this series that I think Cimo knows but Gage never figured out is that you don't need a good deck; you need a deck that can beat one known entity.

Cimo doesn't deserve the hate he gets for lots of reasons. But the biggest reason is that he's one of the chillest and nicest Yugituber around. All these series he gives us and people just aren't grateful sometimes. Gage is kinda of an ass if you watch his Twitch streams and how he wants Yugioh cards to stay expensive. Farfa, I don't even have to explain him and his toxicity. MBT is cool I guess though he can get annoying from time to time. Dzeeff has surprisingly gotten better but man I remember the days when that dude had such an elitist attitude towards casuals playing Yugioh casually and not competitively. But he seems to have abandoned that mindset.

And like banning Truade suire but considering this is the LON episode, would've been cool to see someone win with Destiny Baoard, since Trunade is gone and prevents that going back to hand.

Also you're trying too hard to defend him, Gage was ahead in Game 1 but then Cimo took the lead again with Jinzo while taking some risky damage. Game 2 was where Gage could have played it better.

Yep you said it. People are blaming Gage with how he played Chain Energy but they don't give credit to Cimo having to make his own tough decision in Game 1 whether IO the Swords and Chain or Jinzo but take some damage for it. I do agree that Gage played Chain Energy badly in Game 2, but it was Cimo who did the strategy to take back the lead in Game 1 when he was behind while Chain Energy and Swords were in play.

Chain Energy is a good card but it shouldn't be played on turn 1. In modern Yugioh, sure. You use up your whole opening hand on turn 1 but in DM era Yugioh, it is slow enough you're mostly just normal summoning & setting backrow. It would be better for Gage to play it, once he had given a big push, to put further pressure on Alex. At least once you have an established field and not just a hand of slow normal summon reliant Monsters.

If it's a deck strat Cimo is going to keep playing for the near future to play around gravity bind it could be giving him an unfair advantage.
