Yeah we do that down here. I didn’t realize that everyone didn’t do this. We don’t have traffic lights for walking everywhere, so this is how we tell someone they can go before we leave the stop sign, but we don’t do it aggressively so i guess it’s kinda different. Also you are right, you don’t need to do it if the persons already in the middle of the cross walk, it makes no sense. I’m currently living on my college campus right now, and I have a least one car a day wave at me telling me I can go before they pull off. Then I also put my hand up and a head nod to signal a thank you, but I don’t know if everyone does that part.
