First few weeks she was, then she wasn't for a while and then she was a good mom again! Great for a hand reared first time mom. She'll do better with her next kid.

The baby is alert and active and looks well fed. Please do as Cindy says and stop the negative comments. Ape moms do drink their milk, it's not known why but rest assured that if the keepers think the baby is at risk, they will step in. Thank you Cindy for these wonderful videos and please don't stop posting them!

What is mom eating? She needs more food for her and milk production. I am glad others are not around to annoy her. They should take her a bouquet of flowers to eat. 😀 Between feeding her nipples get dry and chaff is why she cleans them.

She may be a young momma, but they both look like they're doing fine. Very protective and towards the end it does look like she brings the baby close to nurse. Cindy, How will the zoo go about naming the little guy? From the names of the other gorillas it looks like they have some sort of system. Do you know anything about that? Thanks for the videos

Baby drank very little, if he can learn how to latch on he could get more. Mum is going to lick most of that milk the way she is always licking her hands even while baby is drinking causing baby to lose the nipple, Baby is beautiful with those big eyes. Hope he makes it. .

And here a comment about the (not) drinking too. Again, please stop that!!! I'm going to stop uploading my videos if I keep reading coments like these. For the last time. There are 24 hours in a day. I'm in the zoo during about 7 hours a day. I film only about 1 hour maximum. I upload about 15 minutes. You can't say what's happing when looking at those few minutes.
