Q is Kazakh and K is Russian, and ov at the end is Russian for male…Qudaibergen…Kudaibergenov is same surname, meaning Given By God. That is what he is…a Gift from God. That is how you can explain what he is and does. He is repairing our understanding of restorative healing frequencies in music.

Thank you for your illustration, I think you're spot on. This performance reminds me of the words of Igor Krutoy, he said, 'It's easy to work with him. Dimash is music himself. Even when he's not working, he's always walking about, humming some melody. He feeds on music, it's nourishes and energises him. A genuinely great talent. ' Personally I can't let a day go by not listening to at least one of his songs.

The low whisper that he does in the beginning and the end is an Italian phrase, "Ascolta la Voce". It translates to "Listen to The Voice". This should help explain why the "K" in Dimash's last name has changed to a "Q". It is still pronounced the same however. Three alphabets are used to write the Kazakh language: in the Cyrillic, Latin and Arabic scripts. The Cyrillic script is used in Kazakhstan and Mongolia. An October 2017 Presidential Decree in Kazakhstan ordered that the transition from Cyrillic to a Latin script be completed by 2025.

Dimash's last name is spelled with a 'Q', but in English it translates to a 'K'. In Russia they translate to Quidabergenov or Kudaivbergenov. Likewise in China he is known as Dimashi with an 'i' on the end. When you have worldwide audience you can expect various translations. ;)

When Kazakhstan was part of Russia all transliteration of Kazakh language into English was through Russian language and Cyrillic. Therefore his parents name is transliterated with "K". Currently Kazakhstan is in transition into Latin and correct pronunciation of his first letter is glottal "K" that does not exist in Russian and Cyrillic, in English either. Still it will be more close to use "Q" in English rather "K", like in the country name Qatar, for instance. Transition supposed to be finished by 2025. Name of the country also supposed to be changed into Qazaqastan versus current Kazakhstan.

His name is actually Dinmukhammed & I think they’ve called him Dimash also since childhood. Edit- yeah. Dimash is a common nickname for Dinmukhamed (spelled with 1 or 2 m’s, not sure as his wiki says 2 but the rest of internet says one lol)
