The helicopter is just a joke as she used to do it in her concerts fans ask her to repeat it if she reaches the final. The hat is a typical Spanish Cordobean hat (used in traditional folk costumes as flamenco suits) and the "throne" is as well a typical Spanish hair accessory called 'peineta' that women use in traditional costumes of flamenca or during the holy week acompaining the virgin. The message, well, not only an artist deserves to be called a diva but also the rest of women who work hard everyday as she is not only an artist but a family working woman. ❤

I watched it and right after that I put the video to play one more time for to listen to the song with my eyes closed. Melody needs to understand that she is performing the song so full of power and heart on stage, that she has to do less on it to reach the audience! Melody is a great artist who has worked hard since she was a child. She is a true powerhouse, full of strength and passion, with a deeply flamenco soul. As a Spaniard proud of her country and culture, she carries Spain as her banner wherever she goes. Her performance is filled with flamenco elements: the music, the Cordoban hat, the bata de cola (flamenco dress with a train), the structure shaped like a flamenco comb, and the characteristic hair whirl-a gesture deeply rooted in our culture. As a Spaniard, I am incredibly proud to have her represent us before Europe and the world. She deserves it. Otra cosa es que lo de fuera lo tenemos tan asimilado que ya no sepamos reconocer elementos típicos flamencos, pero se ve claramente lo que es. Usa sombrero cordobés, bata de cola y peineta, elementos tradicionales del flamenco. Melody es sevillana y empezó cantando rumbas. Es normal que incluya su bagaje profesional. A unos gustará y a otros no, es normal.

El vestuario es rancio. Un body que no pinta nada, cambiémoslo. El columpio recuerda a La Zarra, con el resultado que tuvo. La peineta no pinta nada ahi. Por qué no se aprovechan las camaras laterales? Hay que reestructurar toda la puesta en escena. After Lachispa disappointed me live, I won't lie only Mel Omana and Melody's performance gave me life despite 'I'm a queen' not being the best esc selection and 'Esa Diva' having a more dated sound. Their performance elevated both songs for me but Melody would work better in esc. Im the bigger picture will it do great? Probably not. But after some songs dropping the ball in the live, it was once of the only "decent" choices. As for VIP, I loved the studio cut but he was off live. The stageing was awesome but even when he wasn't dancing his singing was off. It seems like the song wasn't really produced in his register as he was having trouble hitting the lower notes or he needed more vocal training. Plus when you compare it against the like of Agoney who didn't make it through despite having great staging and vocals, VIP as a package seemed a step down and I just knew the Spanish public wouldn't vote for it sadelly. I do want a male pop singer to make it eventually though.

William and commenters are absolutely right that there's more to Eurovision than just being competitive. The problem is that if you keep doing badly at the contest - broadcasters and artists lose interest, and Benidorm Fest gets cancelled. Deban's right, Chanel should have won in Turin, and I think she would have, under different circumstances. Spain can bring the fun and the cheese, but don't do it every year. Blanca Paloma was an unfortunate case of right style, wrong song - too harsh on the ears.

The song is okay. She definitely has great stage presence and power in her voice. The choreography is a bit messy for me and wants to do way too much, I think it should be toned down. Some of the poses were also a bit weird, like when she is sitting down to do the high note? The dress she was wearing was also didn’t really suit her. Overall, I think she is a good performer and this could be something but this still needs a lot of work. Also, it feels a bit outdated, it feels very 2010. In general Benidorm was a bit of a letdown this year, the majority of the songs were meh at best and the quality of vocals were questionable.
