I prefer the practicallity of the Astra over the 308. Sure, the quality of the finish in the 308 might be a little better, but the Astra is just handier to opperate and less pretentious in its user interface design. The 308 doesn't deliver on all that pretence. The Astra has phisical toggles for temperature and fan speed +/- whereas the 308 has that touchbar which huge touch screen buttons that would be big enough to house +/- functionality but.... don't. So Astra>308 in that respect. I see little chance for the 308 to compensate for that via software update. I've nothing against touch screens, I like them but you have to deliver on the software side, otherwise it's just a gimmick. With the cockpit, HUD and displays it's the same thing. I've nothing against the peugeot smaller steering wheel and the idea of looking over it rather than through it to read your gagues. No problem, I rather like it. However, it DOES NOT completely replace the usefulness of a HUD. I'd still rather have a HUD in the 308 and I missed having one in ours, coming from the Astra. The driver's screen for the 308 is also more pretentious and very busy graphically. The Astra one is much cleaner and simpler and I prefer it. The infotainment screen is tilted a little towards the driver in the Astra as opposed to the 308. Again Astra>308. I've just ordered an Astra ST PHEV to replace our 308SW PHEV and I'm sure I won't miss much from the 308. The Focal sound system will probably be the main thing I'll miss. The Astra should get that option. The 308 is a lovely car and a looker but overal I liked the Astra hatchback we had before it more and I'm looking forward to comparing the estate versions back to back: Same drive train, different approach.

I have a 2015 Astra j 2015 1.6 diesel which I like a lot especially the mpg it also very quiet and comfortable.I have no seen a lot of the new Astra on the road people seem to going out for the Vauxhalls suv range but the Astra is a lot of money so probably more people go for the more premium badges cars

£40,000 for a Astra, the material is lacking and it feels cheap, why didn’t they cover with a cloth material to hide them ?? I would buy a Skoda Octavia VRS estate for similar money as some deals are for £34,000 atm or go for the 1.4 hybrid in it if you need one
