I think Mims has tremendous upside,he has the typical size,power and speed you are looking for in a tackle. This guy can very well be the best tackle in this draft!

What I noticed on that movement play at 5:12 was Mims awareness. He actually covers for the RG missing his cut block assignment. Mims was actually supposed to get a chance to get to 24, so long as the RB used Mims properly.

@aidanshearer6917 ай бұрын
@@dansmith104 idk man mims is a different kind of dude. athletic upside is far greater and he arguably is already just straight up better. i get these stats aren’t everything but last year mims let up 0 sacks, 0 qb hits, and only a single hurry in 170 pass snaps while latham let up 2 sacks, 3 hits, and 9 hurries in 440 pass snaps. mims to me is just so much more skilled than people give him credit for. people assume because he hasn’t played much that he’s not good but he has good footwork and solid hands. maybe i’m biased tho so who knows.
@dansmith1047 ай бұрын
You gotta watch JC Lathams tape. He do t just push guys like mims. He escorts them to the sideline or down to the dirt..I was in on Mims until watching JCs tape. Plus Arty runs a zone based run.. we won't be pulling tackles. We will be running traps, switches, and straight up block whos in front of you. JC has the longest arm in the draft for right tackles. He mauls whomever he touches. And he doesn't get hurt.. mims only has played 8 games and it shows. I don't think either is a bad choice but JC fits our team so much better.
@dansmith1047 ай бұрын
Bro. JC played 4x the snaps and gave up 2 sacks in 27 games as a starter. Lol 😆 I'm willing to bet anything if mims could have played more snaps he would have given up at least 2 sacks.
@aidanshearer6917 ай бұрын
@@dansmith104 to be fair, i’m pretty sure mims’ arms are a full inch longer than latham’s if i’m not mistaken. regardless, I definitely don’t disagree with what you’re saying. latham will very likely be a good player from day 1 in the nfl but it’s just difficult for me to pass up on mims’ upside. also watching him, broderick, darnell, and pickens every sunday would be awesome as a steelers/dawgs fan. by no means would I be upset with latham, I just give mims the slight edge

Mims might be the biggest freak athlete at the Tackle position we’ve ever seen. He’s going to win a lot of reps early in his career just based off his length, power and athleticism. He has lab built traits, spent 3 years developing behind multiple NFL tackles and practicing against one of the most talented Defensive line’s in the history of CFB. If he had 4 more starts (12) we would be debating if him or Alt is the first Tackle off the board. Because of that he could go top 12 but I don’t think he makes it past Pittsburgh at 20. They’ve been putting up a ton of smokescreens, more than they’ve ever done and tackle is a big need for them. Because Tomlin has never had a losing season he’s never got to draft high enough to get a blue chip prospect. He also doesn’t care about weaknesses in a prospect if they are coachable. He values pedigree, high ceiling and guys that come from the elite of the elite college programs. The ones that operate like NFL franchises (Michigan, UGA, Bama, LSU, Clemson, Ohio St ect…). Mims checks all of those box’s and Tomlin might never get a prospect like that to fall into his lap, at least not that far.

Packers should potentially get this kid although OL is not a huge need, that’s more of a day 2 or day 3 kinda move they normally will do, but if they want to flip the script of not going offense ever, I say get this kid! He’s a MONSTER! Packers will immediately make him better than what he was in college cuz they’ve made all of there picks become elite including Zach Tom!! Who’s phenomenal! So if I’m GB and I want to go offensive line to provide Jordan Love a lot more protection and help Jacobs get huge holes, I say gwt this kid!

He's been "MY PICK" for the Cowboys for a while now, providing he's STILL "ON THE BOARD" when Dallas is "ON THE CLOCK." Then I would "MOVE" OL Tyler Smith "BACK" to LT, "MAKE" Mims the RT, then "MAKE" OL Terrence Steele the LG. That would leave Dallas with just finding the CENTER (I wouldn't "JUST BLINDLY" go with a player currently on the roster) and can start looking for OL Zach Martin's eventual replacement. Martin, whose STILL PLAYING at a "HIGH LEVEL", looks like he go another 3 yrs., etc, if he doesn't get any major injuries, etc. That way, they can start, in the next year or so, "GROOMING" Martin's eventual replacement.
