Good to read. I know nothing about the guy, but one knock on him that I saw was doubt whether he's strong enough to fend off an NFL pass rush. I guess we'll see. Bengals look way thin on interior line talent and that is concerning. He'll get his chance.

I really loved this draft. OL upgraded, added DL run stoppers to help fix our biggest need. 2 TEs to have on 4 year contracts with great pass catching ability, an explosive wr3 and then defensive depth. Plus a punter in Udfa. Absolutely love it

Truth, Dax has been handle in a way that was less than desirable. Coach Taylor likes Dax at the corner, Lou mentioned something about playing the nickle and at Michigan think he played a lot in the slot. So go figure! Could this be the problem? Never understood why they put him as a safety.

Solomon Wilcots said that the Bengals should have Dax, first-off, get a good fit at playing one position. After his first two years in Cinci, Solomon also suggested Dax needs to get more confidence and he'll get it if he becomes really good playing one position. I agree. However, Coach Taylor said Dax will play conner, but I swear Lou in one interview said Dax was too good at the nickle position to let him go. I think that's been the problem from the start. Dax can play a slew of positions. What Lou needs to do is help Dax hone his skills a one position first. Dax is too talented to let founder and lose his confidence!

Reading these comments its clear that people don't understand how much they like Volson. They don't value IOL the way we do. It's also clear that by hiring a passing game coordinator, our offensive scheme is going to change. They picked guys who would fit in to that change and we'll see more of a running game split with quick slants. It'll take a few years to see how it works out but at least they're going to try something new

Combo of good, bad and confusing choices. so my feeling is: Whelmed. Good: Mims Jenkins McLachlan McKinnley (bit earlier than I'd like, but still like the pick) Bad: Burton (Massive personality issue, could make AB look sane). No OG picked at all. Confusing: Johnson (not great at run defense, which Bengals need) Newton (they could have used a pick to have snagged a team leader and starter like Cam Hart in same round instead of a pure backup pick) Erick All (why 2 so-so TEs? We dumping Hudson after he carried the TE group last season?) Anthony (What does this mean for Anderson/Battle? I quite like Anderson and hope he stays)

Trayveon Williams has done almost nothing in 5 seasons, and I can't even remember the last time Chris Evans touched a football in an NFL game. We have a RB room that is full of small guys, who have either not played much or have been injured. Not taking at least one RB in this draft full of RBs doesn't make sense. We'll have to see what the Bengals do next. I expect they will add a free agent RB.

Josh Newton in from Monroe LA. About an hour and a half from my house. He went to ULM for 4 Years. I went to the same college. He transfered to TCU for The 2023’season and had a good year there. You can’t trade picks on auto pick. They decided before the draft what positions they were drafting in what round and crossed off names until the highest guy on the list was there for that round. They took less than 30 seconds to make each pick. It’s not a mystery what they are doing.

I say keep working on keeping Joe Burrow on his feet and healthy. Build a young line ground up and let them gel together. For example in college, LSU had a bunch of high school kids year one. They won and gelled together. Yesr two they blocked for a Heisman winning quarterback. Same principle applies to the Bengals

I liked the Center pick and the Edge rusher pick. Didn’t care for the rest. We could have gotten Cade Stover from Ohio State DJ James from Auburn and a Guard/Center combo in Beaux Limmer From Arkansas. They were all Available when we Picked. When we picked The CB James was There. When we Picked the second TE Stover was there and when we picked the safety Limmer was there. We have drafted 3 safety’s in the past 2 years. It like we draft a god damned safety every fucking year.

This is the first such player with "off field issues" that Zac has taken in the draft. With Burrow as QB & J Chase & Higgins leading the WR room & with the rest of the vet players, I think they'll be fine & will keep him in line. If he's a headache it's still just a 3rd rounder, it's not like they traded away draft picks for 3 years to get him or anything. Well worth the risk. I can't think of any pick since Zac has been here with off field questions until Burton so it's not like Zac does it often

The roster looks good. We filled most of the major holes. Would’ve liked to see IOL help and I think that we would’ve been better off drafting Theo Johnson in the 4th and Mckinnley in the 5th, but Erick All is a better route runner and Iowa has a reputation with TEs. It’s a B+ draft for me.

Yes Jake we all thought they needed depth at center and guard. They apparently didn’t agree with everyone else. This center they got he plays center only. He hasn’t played guard before. We could have gotten Limmer and killed 2 birds with one stone. He played guard for 3 years and center for a year. Trey Hill should be history this year. So should Dante Smith. Rather Smith or Carman have to go. Smith should go because we know Carman can come in and play. I don’t think Smith has played in a non pre season game.

I pray this was a good draft but i wasnt happy about keeping all 10 picks. Mims and All may be great but hows both of their health. Burton is talented but seems to be a team disruptor. No pick feels safe accept for jenkins but he feels more like a solid rotational piece, and not a potential star. Everyone else feels like unless its special teams they wont contribute to or make the team. Im also very nervous about our runningback situation.

@@Yos_888 we are missing a strong powerful back. If you go back and watch all the big games we won, mixon was a vital piece in those games. When we had the lead or had to get into scoring position for a field goal and needed to grind out first downs he did that. Are we sure chase can be that type of back. Moss was great last year but who knew who he was before last year and was he some talented hidden gem or did he get those yards because indy is committed to the run no matter what. I'm not trying to be a downer. I hope all my concerns are washed away once the season gets started, but with mixon, reader, owuzie, and Boyd being gone on top of losing bates last year, Higgins and Hendrickson being disgruntled this year. This draft didn't feel like the stabilizing factor. With all that being said. I'm excited about the upcoming season, let's go. Who Dey!!!

Bengals get stubborn when they can make cheap linemen work. They don’t draft competition from earlier rounds because they’d have to pay more. They did the same thing when Kyle Cook was a starter. Meaning this is why no Mason McCormick pick to compete with Volsen.

The fact that Cincinnati didn't draft a running back, I was really hoping they would swiftly pull the trigger on Carson Steele, to be a UDFA. Instead, that big bodied running back. Who has proven the ability to break tackles and run through people. Is a Kansas City Chief. This is an extremely frustrating fact. Just as frustrating as when Matt Araiza became a Kansas City Chief when he was clearly available.

He is not a flop. Chuck will be our Jordan Shipley, Wes Welker, and Julian Edelman. We now have 5 receivers to run 5 wide plays Joe's favorite plays Ja'maar Tee Jermaine Andre Charlie So don't look at it like who's the slot full time slot receiver because they all can play slot. You want a WR cor who can line up anywhere to throw defenses off.

The Bengals aren’t keeping 5 TEs. Get real Jake. They are keeping 4 like they have I. The past 4 years. 4 years ago I think they kept 3. Ever 5. Sample, Hudson, Geisiki, and one of the new guys makes the team. And whether the CB or safety make it Depends on if Tycen Anderson is really and whether DJ Ivey is ready. If they start on the pup List then they do. The center is making the team because Trey Hill is not making the team. I think Dante Smiths time is at an end too. He has had 3 years to show us what he can do and well I’m still waiting to see it. He is going to the practice squad.

I would have gotten DJ James at CB and I would not have gotten a safety but I would have picked a Guard. Not a fucking tackle That we wanted to make a guard but a fucking guard. Someone who played guard in college. The Bengals just haven’t gotten that in the past but maybe they know now. Don’t draft a player who has only played 1 position his entire life and expect him to play another position just as well. They fucked Dax up by doing that too. Dax never played FS at Mivhigan. Playing nickel CB and FS is drastically different.

I don’t like eaither TE. I wanted Cade Stover or Theo Johnson or Ben Sinnott. I like the edge rusher they got though. I don’t like the CB they got. He is 5’11’’ 190 and runs 4.55. He doesn’t have the speed to play outside and we have 3 nickels already on the team. Dax Hill, Mike Hilton, Jalen Davis. The safety they got is ok. I do like the center they got but they let a better one highest ranked on more athletic stronger guy go to the Rams. We could have taken him in round 6 right before the Rams did. I don’t understand why they drafted Jermaine Burton either with Javon Baker, Troy Franklin, and Jalen McMillan still on the board. I think Jaylin Polk was Still on the board too.

I felt like almost every pick was jackson carmen all over again. Were all reaches or gambles. Mims is inexperienced for a reason(injuries) All jr literally has a torn ACL as we speak. Burton was somehow probably my favorite pick but has character concerns apparently out the wazoo. I think he'll be really good if he keeps in check, jenkins a good pick considering they pretty much had no choice but to draft him. McKinley Jackson is iffy. He only be in on running downs for sure but hes a tank and thats something we need. Erick All jr pick pissed me off id have rather had healthy cade Stover for sure. Was hoping for theo but he was gone then. Why on earth we would select a safety after having too many safeties to where dax hill is moving to corner is beyond me. The other TE McLaughlin or whatever his name wasnt terrible since the first TE we chose left plenty to be desired and we screwed the pooch with erick All jr. We missed out on RBs everywhere i think. Should have picked audric estime. Hes a beast. Was thinking we should have drafted a corner higher but dax moving to corner is good. I like the center in rd 7. All in all i think we need some sobriety checks in the front office

After this draft , does anyone believe the Bengals of 2024 are a better team than the 2023 Bengals? Everyone involved in this draft needs to be drug tested. Do they know they are not required to draft injured, inexperienced , "maturity issues" players? "Will need to coach them up" & "Drafting for the future". Burrow will be long retired & I will be dead before the Bengals win a Super Bowl.

The Bengals are very good picking free agents. They are not good at drafting. Other than the Burrow draft, they have been terrible.

I don’t like McGlaughin because he is 24 about to be 25 Years old. He will be ready for retirement after his rookie contract ends. I like the Center they drafted but they could have gotten the center from Arkansas Beaux Limmer in round 6 but the Rams got him after we picked. The center we got is good and has an RAS of 9.48. Limmer has a RAS of 9.68. They should have gotten another guard. I would have gotten a guard instead of that second TE. And we could Have gotten Cade Stover with our 4th but we got another TE Erick All who had back surgery. Not ankle or shoulder surgery but back surgery. He Had surgery on his spine!! I want some of whatever they were smoking in the draft room today.

Also why did they draft Trey Hill in 2021?? Do you know what his RAS is? Its 2.01. Wtf would anyone thing it’s a good idea to draft him. He is 6’3’’ 335 and he can’t fucking move. 2021 has a lot of wasted picks. Dante Smith and Trey Hill. Misses. They have never played in a god Dam game in 3 years. Only Lee season. Carman is a wasted pick Too. Carman actually played for us some too and would have been an ok tackle but we fuck his career up too by making him play all positions exept the one he is good at. Left tackle.

I'd give this draft a C-. So many missed opportunities. The approach appeared timid, miserly and uninformed. Instead of moving up to take someone like Newton with their 2nd pick they kept their crappy picks and proceeded to select crappy player after crappy player with them. They made back picks on their face. The picks are even much worse when you consider who they missed out on. Scenarios that are more egregious than passing on Humphrey to take Carman. This is why the team is far behind the roster curve. Next year they're going to need to find 2 starters at CB , 2 starters at OL (LG and RG - maybe OC), a new starting pass rusher, a new #1 TE, and maybe Safety (again), WR 2 or 3. Picks like Carman over Humphrey and Erick All or McKinnley Jackson over IOL starters and late round CBs are decisions that set you back years. The Bengals continue to be one of the worst 5 drafting teams in the league.

Only one of the drafted TEs will Make the team. The Center is making the team. I can pretty much guarantee that because Trey Hill will NOT make The team. Mims is on the team. Burton probably will the CB might if DJ Ivey isn’t ready to go yet and the safety might if Tycen Anderson isn’t ready to go.

The Bengals don’t target players, they target positions. They have never and won’t ever do BPA. They took the 6th OT in round 1, the 4th 3 tech DT in round 2. The 11 th WR in the 3rd. In round 5 they took the 5th CB in that round. It is predetermined what they are doing.
