I was in Ybor City in Tampa Florida and I had a guy do that to me. He ask me for gas money to get his family home and they had broke down about 1 mile away. Long story short I ran into him later coming out of a night club. Then he asked me if I wanted the money back. I told him to keep it. When he asked me for it I was just trying to help him out, out of the kindness of my heart. I gave him about 20 bucks and it was a lot for me.

The out of gas scam is really bad in some parts of kentucky. I know in Louisville there are certain gas stations scammers target because they don't get ran off quick can be real bad. I watched one guy come with his girlfriend they parked the car at the pump opened the tank and then he parked across the road. They would then take turns doing the out of gas scam. Use same car but one would sit in car across the road and one would beg for gas.
