The general point of pantos has always been euphemisms and double entendres. The children are entertained with the general story and songs, and the parents catch all of the sly double meanings that mean nothing to children. It's kind of the gist of the entertainment.

They were all about penis and vagina and Buttons bought Cinderella a dildo as her wedding present. He showed it to the audience and then pretended to shove it up random places on the stage. Disgusting.

pantos are the best. especially scottish ones cause they have the sneakiest and naughtiest and best jokes of them all! shame. i heard america dont have them. poor americans dont knoe the joy of sitting having sweets thrown at you by actors who sing and dance and make little dirty jokes here and there and saying awww when the character loves someone and booig and hissing when the evil person takes their bow at the end even though their acting was spot on 😂 i was fairy g in my school panto 2019... gotta say, loved every bit of it. i actually made "cinderella" jump in the woods scene because i had a costume change she didnt know about and i was hunched over with a big black cloak covering everything but my shoes... she turned around and literally jumped out of reflexes as oppose to it being in the script 😂
