You yourself are a rare person an ability to express something on a more deep intuitive level.. you would be great to talk to sometime!. In my life it is very hard to find people that are really expressive. i haven't looked at your picture I'm saying this because of how you express things!.. not because I'm trying to carry on with you..so.. with that said.. I will try to put my words together and express something about the song myself in a separate post.. I've already been thinking a lot of things about it over the past week that I've heard it.. the challenges to try to have a shorter post than what I think.😊

they weren't really underrated, they sold about 15 million albums according to the singer, and toured with the best of the best. we don't remember their names because unless you were into specific aspects of music they weren't exactly bon jovi or motley crue. i really consider them more inline with poison, but those guys sold 50 million albums so we're more likely to know who they are. i grew up in the era, no one i knew had anything bad to say about them. ya gotta remember this was one of a *lot* of hair metal bands, some with a similar number of good songs, so being recognized at all was doing pretty good, and MTV kept them in rotation quite a bit.

@@manlymcstud8588 Great Points; I was still in middle school when they hit big but really getting into tunes about than (not playing or anything yet, feeling my way). @@FallnAngL-dg7gx i'll be 52 soon, i graduated in '88 if that tells you anything. 'round and round' by ratt came out when i was in 9th grade, and it was constantly on the radio, just one of those songs you couldn't get away from. GNR was more towards the end of the decade when they blew up, like in '86 or '87, but i'd have to look it up, but most of these hair bands (which we didn't have that term for them at the time) preceded them. i played guitar (i sucked at it, but it was fun to waste time with), so i knew who these guys were (usually). but, most people who were fans of, say, def leppard couldn't name anyone beyond the lead singer, if that. which was kind of weird considering you probably knew who the lead singer was in poison, ratt, and warrant, bands of some note, but nowhere in the same ballpark as def leppard. so, i really shouldn't say none of these bands didn't have lead singers who people knew, rather it was kind of a toss up. they just would come and go so fast it seemed, and it was all about MTV rotation then. the one bad thing any of us would say about any of these bands was the singer was too pretty. well, except for rush, who definitely had a face made for radio. every youtube video i watch people say the same things, sometimes about how the guitarist is amazing and under-rated. it was about speed, a blazing solo was just expected, imo it never made anyone 'amazing.' a useful thing to be able to do, lol, but too many of us considered it way more important than it was. to me, the most actual under-rated guitarist was the guy in huey lewis, but despite being every bit as quick as any of them, he didn't steal the spotlight and shred the fretboard every moment he could. lots of other people say some band was under-rated, but that doesn't really tend to be true unless they have some deep cuts that just didn't get on MTV for some reason. to me, all these bands are remembered as they should be in the grand scheme of things. if you've never watched any reaction channels to old songs, those can be a lot of fun to watch.

remember this came out my sophomore year in high school, I still have the cassette somewhere, but didn't the album Night Songs come out right after this one? Never mind, we have google for questions like that, I'm still stuck back then sometimes.

This song is perfect in every way, shape, and form. There's something about it that's just magical and amazing to me. It's almost as if I've even heard it in a past life, (even though I don't really believe in those.)

I have not been lost in Christian rock music.. but found.. so I really did not listen to many groups in the '80s and '90s and even 2000s.. there are several songs I do listen to in the past few years that would not necessarily be considered Christian.. but I just recently heard this song and looked it up and I keep listening to it.. it's one of these very rare unique songs where the instruments the lead singer and the vocals somehow all sound so good and at times during the song somehow their are times that each has variance but while on different levels still blends and sounds great and then somehow it's so easily and smoothly returns to almost the same level of sound.. and of course the meaning of the song the content -it helps do the job to express a level of pain yet freedom and triumph and a beginning of release from the pain .. yet I can still hear the pain.. if a hundred different men sang the lead vocals it would not be the same.. it could not have been done if a hundred different men sang the other vocals in the song it would not be the same at all it could not be as good.. I really love electric guitar music and I've learned that there are certain people that if you just hear the music and don't see them you know exactly who is playing.. and in the song if a hundred different people were playing the instrumentals it would not sound the same.. I wish so very much I could have seen them playing this live in concert... Wow..what a very talented group.. I will probably be listening to this one for the rest of my life.. a problem though is that I cannot get it loud enough volume wise.. what a rich deep song.. somehow if there were worldly songs that could express part of me with the sounds this one would be right there.. (only probably I would need more so I'm just too intense!)😊❤️

@tufaznail10 жыл бұрын
No, you'd want to be born in the late 70s. Listening to this as a baby doesn't have much of an impact. ;)
@richardavery48119 жыл бұрын
flimflam Nope you mean born from early 60's to early 70's LOL! Those are the teens and 20 somethings in the 80s. The hair bands were guys born in late baby boomer era to early Gen X (late 50s and early60s) influenced by folks like Led Zeppelin Aerosmith, Kiss, Deep Purple etc and the rest of the first wave of heavy metal hard rock from '68 to '75. The Seattle bands and bands like Stone Temple Pilots and such in early 90s' were influenced by 70s classic rock they listed to when they were kids and the non glam metal of 80s.
@tufaznail9 жыл бұрын
That is true. However, I was born in the late 70s and this song had an impact on me, even at that early age. haha
@richardavery48119 жыл бұрын
I can understand. Classic Rock of the late 70's made an impact. From early Van Halen Bon Scott era AC/DC Aerosmith Boston etc. Folks a little younger than me get a kick knowing that I can remember roller skating at the roller rink with Cool and the Gang and Rappers Delight and Queens Another One Bites the Dust being played in the background Gas prices hitting a dollar, Iranian hostage crisis, end of Disco and start of New Wave ,Afghanistan, neo con Dad hating on Carter and wanting us to nuke the Iranians, Parachute pants, feather hair cuts, Jordache jeans Aw those were the days ('79 to '83) LOL!
@robertbruce77725 жыл бұрын
To appreciate it you would have to have been born in the late 60s-early 70s. You would have been in HS or college then.
