Getting Started With Middle-Earth SBG: The Easterlings

Aaaah i love the easterling faction. 😃 Endless conversions are possible with them (and they are the nr1 aesthetically). And they can finally win thanks to the emperor. 🤗 For people starting the Army: - a cataphract with war drum is essential. It wins you games. - dragon cult acolytes can be given an axe for 1 point. To be able to piercing strike is worth it imo. - always take cataphracts as black dragons, they really need the higher fight value. Don't take to many, they are not very good cavalry (no lance, no s4) - don't spam the black dragon upgrade, it is a bit expensive. Only take some for the line in the back and only sprinkle them in. -you can play them with only 1 pikerow instead of 2... just shield with every second front row warrior and support the non-shielding front rank warriors with 2 pikes (it doesn't have to be a straight line to support, just base contact). - Brorgir is always the better shaman - Khand is an awesome ally as they can add some killing power.

@@s0t5iranger69 the legendary legion is better for sure. If you wanna win a tournament go with the emperors host. But outside of the legion... khand is a good ally. Of course mordor can fill this role as well (even better as they can add some magic). But nothing beats the aesthetics of a king on chatiot.😉 I think the emperor and brorgir are what elevated this army to a decent army even without allies.

Sweet what does that legendary army include? Just Easterlings and Khan?

@@s0t5iranger69 the "host of the dragon emperor" legendary legion is a pure easterling force. No allies allowed.😅 Legendary legions have a special army composition and sometimes a different army bonus to give it a different feeling. It's like a subarmy in an army or even an legion including units from 2 different armies (like moria goblins and mordor orcs In the host of the drsgon emperor legenedary legion most easterling units can be taken (besides Amdur and Khamul, as they were in the south attacking gondor at the time and the emperors host was in the north attacking the erebor) and the army bonus is the same plus all black dragon upgrades (+1f +1c) in the warbands of the emperor and the dragonknights are free. This is a 2 point upgrade per model fpr free. You get fight 5 troops around the emperor.😈 and if this wasn't enough... easterling heroes can also reroll 1 d6 in a duel roll. It's a tournament winning legendary legion. You find it in the "defence of the north" supplement.

Easterlings! Such an interesting army for Evil. I consider myself lucky to have gotten myself a bunch of guys with pikes. It's a shame there aren't more in a box, but that is just one particular way of playing the Easterlings. Love the videos! Great stuff!
