Cindy Alter (Clout) Interview (2023) - History Repeating (ep.2)

Welcome back to History Repeating, a radio show run completely by first-year university students at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). The goal of our show is to introduce the music of great artists from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, to new audiences, while also allowing fans to hear some lesser-known songs from the artists they already love!
Each episode features an in-depth interview with the artists being featured. These aren't just your typical interviews, we ask the artists all kinds of questions, from their opinions of underrated songs, early memories they have in the industry, what being an artist is like for them today, and so much more! We were honored to interview Cindy Alter, the lead singer of Clout, and we can't wait to share the music of more incredible artists we've interviewed, including, Valerie Holiday of The Three Degrees, Boney M, Shirley Jones of The Jones Girls, and Luv'.

Cindy is such a sweetheart and deserves all respect for her musical legacy, i am a huge fan of her and Clout ofcours, these angels made really awesome and timeless songs with happy energy. ("Substitute"was originally a Righteous Brothers song?) "Save Me" was first recorded as a ballad by British singer Clodagh Rogers and "Portable Radio", a Hall & Oates song. Clout was BRILLIANT, they were pioneers as a girl rock-pop act - and Cindy Alter is an S.A music legend.

Sunshine Baby is a wonderful song despite Cindy hates it. Alas lyrics for this song can't be found on the Internet. I hope someone post the lyrics here.
