Yeah, that was the only part that bugged me. They wouldn't film the whole show at once without taking breaks, and at the first break one of the chaperones would have tried to talk to Cindy to see if she could continue. And if not, they would have had alternate students available to take her place. I always thought this would have been a better episode if Bobby had been chosen as an alternate, and then when Cindy couldn't continue, refused to take her place and suggested someone else do so, so he wouldn't hurt his sister's feelings.

The character Lassie is, but in the old movies Lassie was always played by a female dog so they didn't have dog junk bouncing all over the kids movie.

The Lassie character is a girl (lassie not laddie) but she was usually played by a male dog, who have thicker coast than females. The Lassie character had puppies several times during the series.

No that was a different episode when she was reading Marcia's diary. Marcia decided to teach her a lesson and wrote that a talent scout was looking for a new Shirley Temple and thought Cindy would be perfect.
