Cindy Guentert-Baldo I think your white balance is off due to your sweater (which I like, btw, just so you know I’m not hating). There are colors and patterns you can’t wear on tv because it freaks out the camera. It’s been a minute since I’ve dabbled in cinema/photography so the newer cameras may be more awesome, but utilizing autofocus without performing a white balance in different lighting will blow out the colors and the camera can’t compensate well.

I’m wondering if it’s because your focus point is in the middle and you’re sitting a bit off centre. In the second half I noticed that every time you hold something in the middle of the frame the focus goes from the background to you.

Amen to that! I remember when my son was little and someone said something to me because something happened and I cursed in front of him. My son (he's now 16) was 5 years old and said, "Hey! Don't you yell at my Mother! She's an adult and can say anything she wants to say. The important thing is that I don't say those words, right Mom?" It was great. But goes to show you, I'm not a bad person, I go to church, was on the PTA, and I raised my son to be a respectful, polite young man, I just happen to curse like a sailor 😂😂😂

Tammy D I couldn’t agree more. After my accident I was spinning around on 75 pain pills a day. It was crazy and most were to resolve the side effect of the previous one or to add more as they didn’t work for chronic pain. I was told I would never walk or have children. Thankfully after determination and a never tell me never attitude I have a miracle son and now after nearly 25 years in the wheelchair I am learning to walk. All but 5 pain pills are gone and slowly they will be stopped as well.

YES! All of the Washi. I sold it all in a lot at a yard sale except like 5 rolls.. a few for halloween and a few for christmas. I have used it as normal tape and that is about it. So sad. I spend hundreds on FREAKING WASHI. and I don't even like how it looks!!!

Middle-of-the-night FOMO purchase. I bought three copies of the same Happy Planner sticker book in one purchase. Three AM and my sleep-deprived (or depraved) brain insisted I “needed” the Tiny stickers. So I put them in my cart and kept shopping. Over the course of an hour I ordered this book two more times. Each one a little more expensive than the other and all three from different vendors. 🤦🏻‍♀️ This lead to a new rule. I can put things in my cart at night, but I cannot complete the purchase until after 12 noon. You have no idea how much money this rule has saved me. Smh.

I regret buying a bunch of colored fineliners and pens and stuff.... like, who am i kidding? I'm a black pen only kind of girl! I dont color code anything ever, i just use black, it's how i like it. Now i have tons of pens and markers and highlighters, and honestly, it just annoys me.

I am now using just a basic cheap 12 dollar planner from target. I actually use it everyday and write in it daily. .. It's better to just keep things simple. Honestly, an Erin Condren Life Planner. I started out in a bujo about 4 years ago and started watching youtube videos and fell down the whole planner rabbit hole. I loved all the beautiful spreads with all the stickers and well... I bought an EC starting in July 2019 and have done maybe 5-6 spreads... I feel guilty about spending $50+ to get it and not use it but now I am back to my bujo.

I also use a black journal but instead of the gel pens, I use a paint pen by Ranger/ DYlusions. they are made to quickly dry and they are absolutely amazing. the colors are magnificent. I use and then I flip the page they dry extremely fast.

Stencils. When I started the bujo thing, I was watching this one planner who used stencils to make her weekly spreads, cardboard stencils she sold on Etsy. I bought a set, plus a really pretty set of brass ones from someplace else. They took longer to use than a ruler, and nothing was the size I wanted. The alphabet ones weren't easy to use and I didn't like the font. They just didn't work for me. I gave them away.

Yes!!! Finally somebody called out the Stabilo highlighters BS! I don't have mildliners available in my country, so I was so glad to find pastel colored highlighters, but daaamn, that bleeding is insane. Even on thick paper they bleed. On regular printer paper they make a total disaster. I bought them around a year ago and I still can not comprehend, why would Stabilo put up for sale something, that is absolutely can't work the way it should? And who buys them?! Well, besides me, obviously XD Definitely, one of the things I regret buying the most.

Just planners in general. Around the end of the year I’m like oh I love this planner! This will be my planner for next year. Then I see another one with a different layout and I’m like oh this would be good for this. Then another and another. Last year I tossed one planner I never even wrote in and declared I would only buy one for this year. I now have 4 that I was certain would each serve a separate purpose. I only use two of them. 😂. Maybe next year I will stick to two....... unless I find more great planners at Barnes and Noble for 50% or more off! 🤗

My biggest has to be when I applied for the amazon credit card (which I love and use) and got a $70 or so credit to use on amazon and I bought the entire Tombow brush pen set! Here is the list of planner regrets! STM bullet Planner (1st) passion planner weekly Passion planner daily (as a kickstarter) 2x agenzio (?) Notebooks in grey that are b6 but the dot grid is smaller than the usual 5mm I have now bought two inserts for the new stm and a sleeve - not sure when I'm going to start those! Not to mention the many themed notebooks for things l like - lilo and stitch, Harry Potter and hedgehogs that are ALL lined - I hate lines!!!!

I regret functional planner stamps. When I started planning in 2017 I thought “Stamps would be so much more cost efficient!” except 1) I suck at stamping well 2) I hate the way the ink feathers on paper and 3) I found Etsy shops with weekly kits that were cute and easier to use. Also a Hobonichi Weeks cover that had strings and then three 1407 planners inserts to fit. Used one page of one insert and haven’t touched them since.

I went and bought all the extra "digital Stickers" and spent way to much money. After three months, i went back to paper and really regret spending so much on the digital planner and stickers. Maybe, some day I'll use them.

I have to say that I’ve been trying to get into planning for a couple of years with very little success (I’m so disorganized it should be a crime). And just couldn’t, tried Happy Planner, which is what got me into planners in the first place, but I never used it. I’m doing bullet journaling this year and finding it a much better fit for me. That being said I am still having moments where I go that planner or accessory is cute and I must have. In reality I’m just really easily convinced I need things I don’t. Great video.

I cancelled my order for the 3th agenda I wanted to get this year. While listening to you I realised that for work I actually only need my digital calender and my bullet journal. That worked perfectly for years so why try to force another new agenda? (it was the moleskine Pro though and it looked very good...) Still I'm actually proud I did it. I used them when I first got into planning since they were a good deal but now I have about 10-15 and most of them have a bunch of decorative stickers and I am not a decorative planner... I’m a stay home mom that loves planning and joined the community a few months ago and I let videos play as I cook clean feed baby etc. I was in the room when this vid came on and I started hearing the curse words... I regret falling down the rabbit hole of Happy Planner sticker books, and Washi samples on Etsy. I do much better with minimal decorating in my planner and journal, I just have to keep realizing it every 6 months when I try stickers again.

I used a simple 3x5 weekly calendar and wrote in pencil while on active duty for 20 years. I love your review of the "Consumer Planning" community, who I believe are being sponsored in some way. I must say though I'm a minimalist planner and didn't feed into all the supplies that the youtube planner community touted as must haves. I didn't purchase any of the items you discussed. I use a simple 5x8 three ring binder and cut plain paper in half, I also made a weekly calendar using excel and sometimes print a 5x8 size month calendar. I don't track, color, stylize, washi, sticker, glitter or anything else that the youtube planning community does. Luckily I didn't fall into the TRAP of the planner community. I'm an outsider in the planner community as I don't feel all that stuff is necessary for good planning. I also don't like the time wasted in the process. Don't get me started with the youtube financial planning community either.....what a lark it has all become.

The good news about not using dated material is that you can use it again in 4 years if you don't want to redate everything! lol I am really loving this conversation on consumerism you're doing. For my own regretful purchases, probably the sheer amount of Happy Planner stuff I recently bought. I was completely swept up in the hype here on KZbin/influenced by the influencers, but also, Happy Planner designs are just so freakin colorful, and I am a magpie. The same thing happened with scrapbook supplies like ten years ago. I made one and a half scrapbooks and haven't done anything since.

I just caught your video and it's hilarious. I can't tell you how much stuff I purchased and gave away falling for the "pretty" bs look. For the last few years I've found "planner peace" as they call it. I use cloth and paper inserts in my Black LV Epi A5. I've been extremely happy and productive. Simple is better for me. Oh, I needed this today! I have never dropped the $ on a EC and am very happy with the planner I have used for the past 5 years. But all these ladies are doing budgets in the EC and they had to say the EC was on sale- that word gets me. So I had it loaded in my cart, looking at budget stickers to use with it, even though it would totally blow the budget I was so carefully trying to stick to. Don’t know why I took a break, think I really was watching more videos to see which shops my favorite budgeters use, when I watched your video. You totally saved my budget today. Thank you so much!

It’s nice to see someone acknowledge that Instagram feeds might as well be catalogs trying to sell you stuff. Every time an influencer “reviews” something in a sponsored video, I’m like, well here’s a commercial that’ll include one minor gripe just so the review seems honest. I love seeing people’s spreads and artwork, but so much of the planner community has become about buying and having shit you don’t need.

I still haven’t used either of them (well I’m trying to use the micro notebook but not sure I like the format). Oh and the mild liners, I’m not a highlighter kind of girl so I do not know why I bought them in the first place...

I bought the Amy Tangerine kit for the tote bag too! But I do use the planner a bit and I have used the stickers and washi a fair amount, plus I like the desk calendar, so I don't feel so bad. I use the bag regularly.

I went EC crazy last year! I got a deluxe monthly to use as a self care planner. I loved setting it up but NEVER used it to track any of the things I wanted to. I got a horizontal life planner to track my mom's health. I've gone back & fourth on this in both actually using it & in how I'd like to use it. I'll decide after her next round of bloodwork if it's worth trying again or if I want to just rip out all I used & see if a friend wants it. I got the note pads you love in 2 sizes, both lined & dot grid, because you & so many others say you love them. They are amazing BUT I didn't NEED them. I have many other notebooks that should be used 1st

I'm in college. I really think Bullet journals are so cool but I don't have time for a bullet journal and I am not artistic. I bought two of them and set up one month and didn't even use them. I've also bought two happy planners and a bunch of sticker packs that I never used. I bought them before the calendar started and while I was waiting for it to be time to use it I ended up buying a different and cheaper planner at Walmart that I actually used. I wanna plan ahead but it's a slippery slope buying a planner that doesn't start for 6 months. Great Video! Its nice to see someone saying real struggles and being honest. I have tried to stop buying in toiletries as well. I gathered all my hair care products and body washes and I am set for a couple years but when I go to the store I want to buy a new body wash that smells nice. I want to purposefully buy and start to minimalize. Overcome FOMO and completionism! Use only what we really want and what we already have until its time for more.

This video made me feel better about a recent purchase fail . I, too, was sucked in by the EC Folio planner videos. I watched several. They look pretty on social media and they were on sale around Christmas. I bought the 4 daily journals and the travelers notebook. I realized how little I used them during the month of January. I wanted to quit them after two weeks, but I forged ahead to give them a fair chance - a full month. Finally gave up the first week of February. I went back to an old standby monthly planner. So many daily pages in my Petite Journals were nearly blank.And I'm not good with stickers. I also tend to just use longer sticky notes for my daily to-list/checklist. That list often carries over to the next day or the day after. In addition, the journals, while SUPER CUTE are STIFF AF!!! I found myself wrestling with them just to write. Paper is too thick for my taste. Maybe I didn't use the journals enough to soften or flatten them. (??) But I tend to like a more pliable feel. This is what I get with a Moleskin Cahier notebook and the like. So I wasted my money on the Folio stuff. But oh, well. Next time, I'll try to think longer and harder about how * I* will actually use planner supplies etc. Like how I actually plan as opposed to how I think I *should* plan or how somebody else plans. How I do it now, works for me. I'm not a cutesy planner. I don't play with paper dolls, frilly doily/ coaster thingies (die cuts) inside my planner, either. I think they're pretty and great for other people. But too fussy for me and my minimalistic planning style. Lesson learned. (I hope.) Fingers crossed. lol

I really like the Happy Planner stickers. I do. And I have bought them and the Happy Planner many times. I NEVER use the Happy Planner because of the weak paper. And my interest in the stickers is waning. I bought one of those goddamn three tier planner carts to organize my shit and now I can’t find anything. Ever. I need more organizers to organize the cart and it makes me stabby.

I bought one of those carts too, but not for planner things- i got it from Ikea and it's been turned into a general projects cart- i have one tier for each of three sewing projects that i can keep available and switch between as needed. No organization necessary

Don't beat yourself so bad, I bought a Cricut, a Silhouette, a Brother Scan&Cut and a Cuddlebug with all of the corresponding plates in addition to a bunch of die cut blades and embossing folders. At to that the stabilo highlighters, the midliners, tombow, copic, stamps, inks, clear stamps and EVERYTHING happy planner!!!!
