To all those who clearly don't understand the natural 'perfection' of a 3-act story and claim Ted Lasso was only "good" in season 1... I'd submit the awesome intelligence, the big heart, and the uncommon grace Simone and George shared reacting to Season 3 Episode 5 through the Series Finale as to the greatness of the entire series. The Cinebinge Reaction was worthy of Ted Lasso... IMHO, the Greatest Comedic TV Series of all time. Thank you George and Simone!

Season 3 has some stumbles over storylines. The Jake/Michelle thing is a little rushed and bits are kind of hand waved. Keeley and Jack was a bit rushed while at the same time dragged out - especially as we’ve already seen the same sort of story (rich partner being overly controlling on the other) with Rebecca and Rupert. And then to cap it with a love triangle with Keeley, Roy and Jamie kind of falls into lazy sitcom writing that Ted Lasso had avoided in season 1 and 2

I can’t think of a better example of the masterful 3-act execution than Jamie’s story. Season 1: He thinks he’s one in a million Season 2: He faces that he’s just one of 11 Season 3: He realizes that he’s both

The “footballers should stay out of politics” storyline in ep7 is based on Manchester United player Marcus Rashford where his own tweets about welfare were initially brushed off and was told to “stick to football” but eventually gained enough momentum it forced the government to change policy. It made Rashford into something of a cult hero but ever since whenever he has a bad game he gets lumped with the accusation that he should focus on his game rather than get involved with politics

Given this is a US production I always thought this to be a reference to the much more prominent "Shut up and dribble" on Fox "News", as reaction to LeBron - the same with the "it's just practice" enema for Jamie was inspired by Iverson.

@@CaptainFirefred Some of the writers room are British (e.g. Brett "Roy Kent" Goldstein, Phoebe "Jane Payne" Walsh), Sudeikis himself is a big UK football fan and S3 would've been written around about when we'd had a couple of female Home Secretaries who were both dialling up the anti-immigrant rhetoric (especially around small boats crossing the channel) so i'd say it hews more closely to the UK situation but with elements of the US stuff too.

A small thing I really liked in the ending is that the team repaired the Believe with golden glue which was a callback to the scene with Rebecca where they talked about kintsugi, the art of repairing pottery with golden seams to create something stronger and more beautiful. What a satisfying ending to a wholly satisfying show. 🙂

You guys would be such a joy to hang out with. The more I've seen of the finale, the more I think it was done just right. They set up a lot of things where things could have gone a number of ways. For example, some people would want Keeley to wind up with Jamie, some want her with Roy, some want her with neither... Some folks want Ted back with Michelle in a whole family unit, some don't. They gave us a lot of great outcomes, like Sam getting to play for Nigeria, but for some points they left it to the audience to imagine the ending they want. Really nicely done, IMO. Thanks for sharing your journey through this show.

34:30 Nate's arc is probably second only to Jamie's. To the Dark Side and back again. 35:10 Rani Dojas is one of the greatest characters of the entire series.🤣 41:21 The combination of Nate playing whilst Rebecca tears these guys a new one is utter perfection.🥲😂 45:12 Simone: "Yeah, gonna need you to take it down about 10-15% there, Squirrelly George". 46:24 Jade is such an hilarious Fox.🤣🦊😍 47:05 Teds change in demeanour around his Mom is a fascinating piece of his puzzle. 48:12 This is one of the most hilarious breakdowns I've ever witnessed. "Where are me Wings?!😭" 🤣🤣🤣 58:55 Another brilliant scene with Weirdo Beardo. 1:02:46 The Misdirect Game here is Next-Level. 🙃😂 1:04:28 Of course they had to give us something so Pure in the Finale, the heart that this show has displayed in a mere three seasons is nigh-on unparalleled in Entertainment History. 1:05:09 Love the use of "Waterfall" by The Stone Roses in this sequence, a criminally under-known band from back in the day. 1:05:21 You are correct, Simone. That is a call-back to the Premiere. And so is 1:12:38 and this lad at 1:12:46 . This show knows how to do Fan-Service. 1:06:44 And Nate's Redemption is Complete.🥲 1:07:29 Ow-Ow-Owwwwoooo. 🐶🐕🦮🐕‍🦺🐺 1:09:46 This is a beautiful moment, but that Dune-burn by George was Epic! 🤣🤣 1:13:42 These motor-scooters absolutely stuck the landing, and the use of this song over Rebecca finding her Family (love the Flying Dutchman), Keeley starting her new company, Roy getting help, Beard getting married, and Ted returning home was perfection.🥲🥃

44:56 Ah. Peoria, Illinois. My sister dated a guy down there. When I was in high school I went to visit her & her boyfriend's friend had a daughter Sara, we went to a movie, & after she took me to a park. Well... you know the rest. It lasted for two weeks, then I had to come home. We were 14. I still think about her everyday 14 years later. I have a family, she has her own, married, but I'll always remember the shitty little town called Peoria, Illinois because of her, & when I heard Beard say that's where he was from, it's somehow the most perfect place they could've picked.

I've watched this a few times now and something struck me the last time. When she talks about him being that kind as a baby I think that upsets him because of what he told his therapist about his father's death and how he decided then that he wanted to make sure everyone knew how he felt. At 57:55, they freak out because Pep Guardiola himself (the real one from the actual club) is praising them? I mean, they happy about the cameo happening (and show that in this way), or happy about the praising from the top club's manager of the season/show?

56:35 - finally someone in a reaction to this scene says it out loud. Takes one to know one, but this is a restaurant, so it's not far fetched.

Guys! They’ve given the green light to a Season 4 of TED LASSO as of a couple weeks ago! This series is perfection! It was a ginormous success and was nominated/won multiple Emmy’s. So glad they have finally decided to continue it! I so enjoyed re-watching and laughing and crying with you! It IS a wonderful series and perfectly cast. Every character is interesting! By the way , Hannah Waddingham is a terrific singer with a gorgeous voice! She sang on a Christmas special I saw as well as other programs (I’m sure you can find them on KZbin).

If you want something with the same feels, check out "Shrinking" from the same creator of Scrubs and Ted Lasso, Bill Lawrence. Thanks for the great reactions to this amazing show.

Beard and Jane winding up together isn't the happy ending the show makes it out to be, and while it's definitely not overt, I think there's at least an implication that Ted and his wife get back together, and I don't believe that's the right ending for Ted. Everyone else was perfect. One of my favorite moments is everyone in the stands chanting "wanker" at Rupert, and Ted getting confused because he had just learned to associate that phrase with himself. The show doesn't even draw a lot of attention to it; amazing setup and payoff.

I agree that Ted and Michelle don't need to get back together, but I also didn't read what we saw in the last episode as evidence that they did. I don't think she stayed with Jake, but she also stayed back and didn't come to greet Ted when he arrived and the last scene just feels to me like two people succesfully co-parenting their child and being there for the son. I mean it is vague enough that I suppose everyone can decide for themselves.

@@tanyakopel This is how I read it too. The show has a strong theme of personal development and growth, and repeatedly that growth includes moving on from relationships that have run their course, but learning how to be mature and respectful to those people. Additionally there is personal growth aplenty on show. Ted opening up and starting to deal with his issues mean that the issue of his hyper-positivity being a frustration to Michelle is likely to be more reasonable and tempered in the future.
