Here is a couple of bonus Predator facts. 1) Arnold was spending a portion of his honeymoon filming Predator. His wife at the time thought the movie was going to be a flop. 2) Stan Winston didn't think Predator was going to be that good, so he sent his "B" Team to be on set for most of the filming. A family friend (Shannon Shea) was one of the Keys on the team. 3) The human spines that the Predator has on his suit is because on the first day of filming with the suit it nearly tore in half. So they had to patch it up some how and the FX team had extra skeletons hanging around so they came up with the idea that he decorates himself in trophies.

I went to Puerto Vallarta where they filmed predator. There was a tour bus that showed you where Arnie stayed during production, then a tour to a tequila factory, after that was a hike through the jungle where they showed the tree from the water mud scene, which looks nothing like it used to. At the end you arrived at a restaurant in the jungle where there was a helicopter that had a predator statue on top of it. It was an awesome trip.

I honestly think predator is THE BEST action movie ever made. I 'd put Terminator 2, but really, it has less action. I mean the testosterone alone is what makes it awesome. The Expendables is just explosions and shooting, and they are not really expendable. But in predator, no one is safe. I remember being really scared watching it for the first time. One fact you left out: Did you all know the predator was (kind of) voiced by Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen? He was given an image of the Predator's face, and the mandibles reminded him of when he was a kid and found a tilted dying horseshoecrab on the beach. As the legs were riggling it made this discusting clicking sound, which is where Cullen got the idea for the Predator's now famous clicking sounds.

@xm377Moyocoyatzin6 жыл бұрын
The key ingredient that the original two predator movies have that the stupid 2000's sequels/remakes lack is the most fundamental ingredient of all: Masculinity! They doubled down on the "manhood" aspect and that is why the movie works! The Predator is basically an extraterrestrial "Man-Hunter." He specializes in hunting other apex predators on other planets. When it came to earth it didn't just decide to hunt random men. It specifically waited and observed the commandos as they decimated the guerrilla fighters and then decided that those testosterone machines are a worthy prey. That is also why the predator never bothered with the girl, even when it snuck into their camp to steal his trophy. He is after the Alpha males and sees no importance on the female. She was harmless and thus not worthy of being hunted. That is also why in Predator 2 he doesn't harm nor kill the pregnant cop. Predators are hunters, not butchers. These important concepts are what these stupid motherfuckers today making all these shitty looking sequels don't comprehend.
@sMASHsound6 жыл бұрын
even more, sport hunters, trophy hunters. killing something easy to kill isnt much of a boast.
@xm377Moyocoyatzin6 жыл бұрын
Yep that is why in Predator 2 when Harrigan kills the predator the elder Predator shows him respect and even gives him a trophy. Predators only hunt those who are strong and cunning enough to potentially kill them in a fight or a hunt. In both predator movies it was the Predator who was killed by his prey!

I first saw this movie in Frankfurt Am Main in West Germany back in the 80's. The Landmark to this flick was it was the first movie in German that I understood from beginning to end. I came back to the Barracks and literally forced my roomies to go see it the very next day under nothing but my recommendation. They enjoyed it so much that from that day forward when I recommended a movie I could do no wrong. That's why this is one of my absolute favorites of all time.

My favourite film of all time 👌🏻 I was asked a 60 question quiz all about this film and got 60/60. A close second is Aliens and 3rd Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Daniel Stewart general dynamics m134A with ge motor to be exact 7.62x51. Considering a box of 308 is about $15 i couldnt imagine a few second burst through that magnificent piece of machinery how much that would cost. No wonder the US government is trillions of dollars in debt they owe it to federal munitions in lake city.

The Predator suit or costume or what ever you wana call it, is the best thing that ever happened in the 80's. Way ahead of it's time.

one other fact to add is that the insurance company had to hire a bodyguard to protect the crew from Sonny Landham "Billy" while filming. lol he was so badass

Really? Why?
@MrOsho857 жыл бұрын
TheMchef he had a very bad history of violence and bar fights...he had a temper and would get into fights easily and injure people. So the film crew didn't take chances lol. Just some research I made
