However the English sound wasn't considered good enough & so it was dubbed again by English voice over artists. Which is why it's sometimes very very slightly out. The only original English bit left in was the parts spoken by the actor that played the old perfume maker. The voice over artist credits rolled at the end of the film. 😊

I don't think he's supposed to be beastly looking, just beastly behaving. Technically, his scar isn't that bad, and he seems to know it. He just doesn't like looking at it because it reminds him of the night his wife died and when his worst "beastly" behavior occurred. It also doesn't help that by now he has become dependent on his painkillers, which I think has ended up causing him to become hypersensitive to the nerves in his scar, which explains why his scar still hurts him even after it's mostly healed.

It's not his voice. Though he speaks English his voice was dubbed again into English by Dermot Magennis & Bella's voice was done by Aisling Franciosi.... Others were also dubbed into English even though they spoke English when filming. The only one who wasn't dubbed was the old perfume maker...😊

Like most people here, I found this movie from the KZbin recommendation as the film is having a resurgence. It's not perfect by any no means and there are some things I question about, mainly surrounding the Beast/Leon character development is lacking and I wish he could have been flesh out just a bit more. The Beast to me, in every version has always been the asshole, oh poor me feelings, and taking his anger at everybody. To me that has always been the Beast's main traits. But I honestly will watch this again over the Disney Live action one. Because at least this one had some interesting ideas (probably not properly executed) and was being it's own story while being inspired from the traditional Beauty and the Beast story aspect. If any of you guys are able to find the Italian dubbed version (the actor who plays the Beast does dubbed the Italian version for his part and I'll say much better), I can tell you that the Italian acting is miles better with some change of dialogues slightly better, and is probably best to fully watch the film that way. And yes this English one is dubbed. None of the actors (except for one actor though, I don't know who) in here is not their voices at all. So here's the thing; during production, all the actors learned their lines in English and the entire production was filmed in English. But when it came for the Italian release, almost if not all of the actors were dubbed with different voice actors in Italian. When it finally came for the International release, for some reason English voice actors were hired to do the English dubbed. So it's rather odd as to why the actors playing their characters took their time out of day (weeks even) to learn and say their lines in English when their English lines was going to be dubbed over it. I don't know, I find that weird and confusing. I guess their accents would have been too noticeable, I don't know. Because normally, like an American film (Avengers Infinity War for example) is filmed in it's original language and for wider releases and such, voice actors from different countries are then hired to dubbed over the film's original language for other countries to watch it. Also, it's why this English dubbed one is really accurate to what the actors were saying, because they were. Thought I'll let you guys know.
