I don’t know why critics hate on this show so bad. I loved it! They said that the English dubbed over voices were bad, but honestly they are not that bad- I didn’t even realize they were dubbed till I read a review about it! I like the interpretation as it is a tiny bit more realistic than magical roses and a woman falling for an actual beast 🙃

It is probably an ancestral home, I don’t think people paid taxes on their house and property back then like we do. Nobles and gentlemen passed down that type of thing, they were only sold as a last resort or I think in noble’s cases they couldn’t because they were bequeathed by the crown. If you like this version you should check out Elisa di Rivombrosa. There is the same actor, the story is similar but settled in Italy, and inspired by "Pamela", Samuel Richardson's book written in 1740. In Italy and France was a huge success years ago!

Let me guess: the count gets white-washed into a romantic hero, and a couple of details left out, like her spending 50% of the story apologizing for his bad behavior, and about one chapter dealing with the fact that a few months post-wedding, he's spending his nights with an actress? ("dealing" as in: not talking abou it, making sure she always looks her best, always being sweet, and no complaints when he's off to visit his lover.) Honestly, there's a reason Richardson doesn't get the amount of movie adaptations that Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters get.

@@paries1014 not saying otherwise but it all comes down to choices. I know people who have gotten married and raised their siblings children as well as their own. My aunt and husband raised me and my siblings. It just takes the right kind of people to make it work. Since aunt passed I've been helping my younger sister raised her second child and right now my love life is on the back burner because of it. We'll see how it eventually plays out.

I just saw this miniseries. It's okay to be late because this mini-series is amazingly good, the story, the cast especially Prince Leon and Bella, the properties, and the music are all great. I have seen it many times. The story is more real than the Hollywood version. In my opinion, Prince Leon with the extraordinary incident make him into evil and cruel. He is a man who is not happy and is lonely. He is also possessive. I see the evil one is his cousin, Lady Helen, who is a psychopath. Prince Leon's also dependence on harmful tranquilizers has exacerbated his illness. The two love each other, but Bella's gentleness, beauty, sincerity, and courage have strengthened Prince Leon to become a better person. How do I get the complete series? how much does it cost?. I'm from Indonesia and I prefer the English version.

Leon is an adulterer who enjoys ruining the marriages of other people, likes to have his servants whipped, lets the peasants - who are the source of his income! - starve and takes a bet on ruining a young woman (having an affair would be the end of her mariage chances, not even mention what getting pregnant would do to her life). But's that's all okay, because he's sad! I mean, This is perfectly reasonable behavior for a man who lost a loved one! Meanwhile, Helen is definitely a very unhappy person. But who cares, she's evil.
