In the manga, the spirit is depicted holding her daughter's hands in the afterlife. It was heavily implied that the daughter was killed. The Yakuza in Japan were known to traffic people in exchange for debt and sometimes even just kills them to traffic their organs.

Beats the alternative of them "keeping" her

The manga had a little more detail to the mom's story: It's been a minute since I've read it but I think the father died in an accident, and the yakuza attacked her and the daughter because she couldn't pay off her debts (implied to be specifically because she bought the dress for her daughter). The final scene was also very explicitly her dancing on a rooftop and jumping off to her death, but Japan's broadcast laws heavily limit suicide or self-harm topics being portrayed like that, so it had to be much less obvious in this version. Also yes, the daughter is dead: in the manga she's depicted holding hands with Silky as they head to the afterlife.

Japan censor suicide on TV. That is the reason why the creator changed the roof top dancing scene and what happened after.

You finally got to this episode. What a episode of dandadan it was.that flashback had alot of show dont tell. Giving hints that she was a s worker to slowly building up showing the mum life with her daugher and the music got darker then bang that scene with then cut back to the running scene from the start daughter got taken.after that show the light lower to Indicate that she was dancing on a roof then fell to down with a bang. They did well to link aira to the silky story line especially with that whole i love you mum. Im guessing both the mother and child both dead because she said them This episode you get to know why aira acts like a tough bch with that whole no mother and putting on tough front like the dad

Wow, this might be the first KZbin video that my phone's Google Notifications has suggested to me- (Maybe not? I'm sure the Tyson vs Paul fight and a few things from the news has veen suggested. But what I meanis like, an ACTUAL video. Not something with an AI voice reading a script, or something that was on TV and just posted to that local TV station's YT channel.) -That 1) I was truly interested in. But also 2) That has introduced me to a YT channel that I actually liked and am now subbed to. And probably wouldn't have came across it under normal circumstances. Idk if i should be happy about that or if I should be pissed that google is using my metadata nore than ever before, and if I should feel like my privacy is being invaded? But I will say that I'm glad I was suggested this channel.
