Cinema 4d Stage object : Multi Camera switch/cut

The Stage object acts like a movie director. It determines when a camera, an environment, a background, etc. are used within an animation.
For example, you can create many different cameras in your scene and use the Stage object to decide when to cut to a particular camera.
You can also use the Stage object to switch between Sky, Foreground, Background, and Environment objects.

Now when you send this out to after effects as a .aec file, how does the stage object import and work as far as compositing goes? Because I used to export each camera shot individually, but then I'd have to do comp work for each individual shot. Very tedious. So basically, with the stage object, does it make it so you can do all of your 2d comp work on just one scene and that's it? That would save a ton of time.

Where do you find stage on the 2023 version?

I'm guessing you've managed to find it by now! If not: It's under 'create > virtual set > environment > stage' in the top menu bar. Or you could always just hit shift + c and type in "stage", or whatever else you're looking for.

may be a bug, found this video trying to troubleshoot my stage problem (same as yours) and no luck yet. ill reply edit if i find out the solution.
