I love how Gabby is a really great use of a Marie Sue character. Usually a Mary Sue is a detriment to a story because their inability to be meaningfully opposed removes any stakes from a conflict as the character will shortly find a solution to any conflict placed before them. Gabby subverts this by her conflict stemming from the fact she can do anything as it means she doesn't have just 1 thing she's talented at. When all her talents are special, none of them are.

This instastly became one of my all time favorite episodes! mainly because we were introduced to Gabby she also instantly became one of my new all time favorite characters i always loved how she was just as excitable and energetic as Pinkie Pie! And the idea of a Griffon getting a cutie mark sounded very interesting for this episode, but i was happy that Apple Bloom Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle made Gabby an official CMC in the end!

This episode is amazing for three reasons: 1. Introduced Gabby, a new griffon character that is both energetic and charming, already became a fan favorite and even more in her next episode. 2. The idea of a griffon getting a cutie mark is actually interesting to see, as normally just ponies get it. Along that Gabby's fascination for ponies influenced this. 3. Gabby itself has an intrigant character contrast, showing that she is actually talented in everything she does but that also causes that all her talents are no more special. On itself seeing that at the end Gabby became a CMC was amazing. She became part of the group already in her first episode that was cool!

I like this episode in particular because I feel like it implies that a cutie mark is more like a prison and ominous magical overlord force that controls there very lives. A pony is limited to cutie mark, and every other creature has a freedom to gain and loose interest in whatever they want.

There is one thing here that always bothered me about this episode. Gabby DOES have a special talent. She's something called "A jack of all trades". This is a person who, as the name implies is able to do many different trades, and can fill in, in many different positions in times of need. This is a very rare trait, and often very sought after in industries. Picture a person who can work the CNC machine, weld, fabricate, and generally use all the equipment in the shop... Your welder is sick for a day, this person steps in to weld... you need steel forged, this person can handle it. They may not be as good as someone who spent their entire life just making knives, but they are more then able to make a replacement part for a truck from scratch. You will hire specialists for the big jobs, and keep a jack of all trades around for when you need stuff done and your masters sick or busy. In that they really underplay just to specail gabby is.

I love gabby, she is so adorable, kind, friendly. Sweet, innocent, caring, helpful, smart and cheerful. Her design is cute and her voice is charming. She isn't really Mary sue due to the fact that she learns after she couldn't get a cutie mark. Mary sues are perfect beings that don't learn anything. Gabby also not getting her mark didn't make her a Mary sue due to this. She was too hyper and a bit naive as well. This was a good episode with a good moral and I loved the cmcs in this episode. They were mature and the whole episode was adorable, it's hard to hate on Imo.

I give you a bonus sin to this episode because of one of the most confusing conternurty errors I have ever seen and it in my school vr game and it's so odd and it was 2 vr missions first called extremis measures where you play as goalius to get a rare or called extremeium where on the shattered glass torch talon renegade boss fight where her faction symbol changes first is the wondercolts symbol on the first phase second where goalius fired his giga storm fury blast from his mouth on torch talon left shoulder was a decepticon symbol and finally was a phoenix with a slash mark which I think is her cutie mark which doesn't make sense at all because of the fact that she's a robotic machine called a Cybertronian ( the dimension of the game is the gigaverse where it's every dimension combined into one and so far the boss fight arena and the ores natural location is dragon valley) and the second mission called operation bring back a titan where it's torch talon sister sattleair who has the same problems ( maybe do to ptsd when goalius fucking shot her in the exposed spark chamber after it was destroyed by the combination of guardian fire power and a random supercharged night fury blast ) the note worthy differents is ( the bring back a titan mission is where you play as shadow cat who goals to find Goalius inject him with a virus that disign to kill phazon in the body and get him to a unknown ultra wormhole) where it's a boss fight with shadow cat as goalius against sg sattleair and it's weird first symbol error was she had starlight glimmers cutie mark on her shoulder in phase one of the fight then gets a upside down decepticon symbol when goalius kidnapped her and takes her as well for interagation and finally was her own cutie mark is a cloud and a satellite on the interagation before linking with a ultra link offscrean ( PSA I forgot to say this but sattleair had a odd symbol on her left shoulder where in the extremis measures mission she had a what looks like goalius biohelm before it activities destroyer mode before she blocked the same blast her sister took but 50 times more powerful do to geo globe energy)
