7:17 So when Mia snorts the Heroin, she thinks that it's coke because of the container it was in. Coke is known to come in a baggie. Heroine is known to come in to balloons for this reason. When the dealer says "I'm out of balloons, is a baggie okay?", that is something that he needed to clarify with Vincent because that is how people differentiate coke and heroin they look very identical in powder form. With Mia not knowing this, she OD'd. It took me years to realize this and is one of the greatest attentions to detail I've ever seen...Blows my mind till this day. I'm requesting 3 sins off.

Totally dig that Marsellus let Butch go. He knew what Butch did to come back and that Butch was home free if he just left. Coming back was a purely selfless act that did nothing but create negatives for a guy who was a hated enemy. And saved his life. Marsellus got a heap of character exposition there by recognizing that and letting him leave (and Marsellus was saved from certain death several times in the last few minutes so hes probably just grateful it ended with him alive. Also there is NO doubt he had other things on his mind, all he wanted to do was concentrate on the horrible upcoming torture)

Vincent had to use the bathroom, while in the bathroom he heard Butch come back, but he assumed it was Marcellus with the donuts. Not only that, but I feel that people have forgotten this - Back then, ALL films had about 3 minutes worth of credits, that HAD to be shown within the first 5 minutes of a film (might have been the first 10 minutes), according to union/ S.A.G. rules/ whatever. Some movies were like Pulp Fiction, where you'd get a bit of the film, them 3 minutes of credits, then the rest of the film, but most were straight into the 3 or 4 minutes of credits, followed by the film. Nowadays, of course, we just go straight into the films and the credits are either an afterthought, or are sometimes displayed during the opening scenes. Because of this, because we now get straight into the action, without having to endure minutes of credits, for people we don't know, doing jobs we don't understand, because we no longer have to put up with this shit, a LOT of people have forgotten that it used to be the standard to have to watch the credits before the movie.

And isn't it suspicious that Marsecelluss would want to accompany Vincent for the job to kill Butch. Meaning that Vincent was a deadman and Mia is going to die. But this would be THE PERFECT SET UP FOR A PULP FICTION SEQUEL. With Mia realizing this and begging Jules to help her.

Fun fact: in a bit of subtle storytelling Tarantino makes it clear that the gun on the counter did not belong to Vincent but it belonged to Wallace, who was tagging along and had taken a break to get coffee and donuts and given the fact you can’t carry around an UZI in public he had to leave it on the counter.

@@leonpaelinck it’s not explicitly stated but it does make sense why he’d be getting a box of donuts so close to the apartment. Also explains Vincent being caught off guard by Butch. I in 89-91 I lived in the apartment building that the Brett seen was shot in, and I can assure you that someone absolutely could have gotten shot there & no one called the cops, LOL. 1. It was in the middle of Hollywood 2. It was in a REALLY SKETCHY area in the middle of Hollywood (my roommates BF was murdered around the corner from our building, my old janky car was stolen by a homeless person 2 weeks after I moved in) 3. The building had started as a luxury hotel built at the turn of the 20th century & was built to completely different standards than buildings of today. The lathe & plaster over brick walls were so thick & sturdy as to be nearly soundproof. I could play LOUD punk rock music all night long & never bother my neighbors. You couldn’t hear it through the floors/ceiling or outside my apartment unless you were standing in the hall directly outside my front door. It was also RIGHT next to a freeway off-ramp that was LOUD & busy 24 hrs a day. Gunshots could easily go unheard in that environment. 4. It was an old, rundown, dirty, cheap AF building managed by a skeezy creepy alcoholic 2nd rate Boss Hogg impersonator, filled with a random eclectic assortment of very low income goths, punks, bikers, seniors, undocumented immigrants, people on disability, addicts, mentally ill, LGBTQ couples etc who most likely wouldn’t want to get involved with the bigoted a-holes at LAPD if they didn’t absolutely have to…and as someone who was regularly profiled, targeted, harassed, even assaulted back then by LA & OC PD’s simply because I looked wEiRd & listening to anti-authoritarian music, I don’t fucking blame them. That building in that city in that particular moment in time that the movie is both being filmed and taking place, it’s not at all implausible that shots would go unheard or ignored.
@glndreamer Жыл бұрын
Wow that’s quite the story! When he asked why no one called the cops I immediately thought “because this is a sketchy apartment building and the likelihood that almost every other unit is ALSO doing some sketchy shit is quite high. And people doing sketchy shit (or as you said, people who are undocumented immigrants, drug addicts, mentally ill, etc) don’t exactly want the cops coming around”. (And if you take into consideration that this was, assuming that the movie was set around the time it came out, LA in the 90s, ESPECIALLY NOT THE LAPD) Not to mention I’d bet Marsellus knew this was the case and that’s why he was ok sending them there.

Pulp Fiction is a Classic and oh so good. You missed a big blooper/sin but you touched on it. Has anyone ever noticed that when MIa and Vincent arrive back to her house after dinner, they enter, she puts in the code to the alarm, plops down on the couch and one of the patio doors behind her is wide open?

@@jimmyandersson9938 A blooper is an "OOPS" a mistake in a movie like when an extra depicting a Roman soldier is seen wearing a watch. Mia turns off the alarm, puts on the music and plops on the couch. Unless she let her cat out the door behind should not have been open. Blooper.

Archiebigmuscle s I don’t think it’s that great of a film. Like most Tarantino films, it’s full of unnecessary dialogue and scenes which only serve to extend to runtime. It’s generally boring, seems as if Tarantino made it up as he went along as it has a terrible story. The only reason it’s as big as it is is because if you say you don’t like it you get pummelled by Tarantino fanboys.
