A cinematic introduction to the Sisters of Battle from the Warhammer 40K universe, created using clips from various awesome Games Workshop games and videos.
Since the Sisters only got a short bit in my main introduction to 40k universe ( • Cinematic introduction... ) I decided they deserved their own video. I'm going to try and make a few more of these for individual factions.
This was created using the cinematic trailer for Warhammer 40,000 Battle Sister (www.oculus.com/experiences/qu...) and a couple of trailers from the Warhammer Community site (www.warhammer-community.com/).

And back to our topic, you can find it in the Godblight novel, which is most recent I guess. A guy named Matthieu was buffed by Emp's power to nullify Chaos plague taints on the world they are fighting. There are other cases when Emps buffed his warriors, not always but those times do exist

The Imperium Guard almost always keeps the line. This is their usual job. The Imperium Guard always come and puts things in order. Without pathos, without epic, without unnecessary heroics and self-overcoming. The usual routine work. It's like looking at the street, where nothing happens - no one is interested. Is more interesting when some incident is happening on the street. Therefore, all the most interesting moments occur only when the Guard can't keep the line.

If I'm not mistaken, it used to be shown in a way that was just subtle enough that one would wonder if it was indeed a miracle (like choosing a path that narrowly avoids artillery fire, or the enemy weaponry malfunctioning just enough that the Sisters can strike back faster), but yeah, they went from vague probabilities in their favor to self-resurrection and manifestation as Living Saints (sisters with grand wings smiting the infidels with fiery swords).

I have a medium sized imperial army. I just aimed for Sister of Battle too. My advice. They look the best as a detachment for the Imperial guard. Through 30-40 sisters and a couple of vehicles and you have your elite units for the Imperial guard. Coz, lets be honest. Space marines look nice. But sisters looks much better (new models). And not as boring to mount/paint.

Also I'd like to point to the siege of Vraks as an example of the Imperium's military philosophy when it comes to guardsmen.

From my point of view, it should feel like the Imperium never quite has enough, that for victory in one place there has to be sacrifice in another. I've always wondered about that myself. Like sure your standard Necron is a hulking metal skeleton with a deathstar lazor for a standard sidearm, but at least its big enough to hit and slow. There are hundreds of scarabbs tho, tiny and quick. I'd be more concerned with them any day XD

I'm not sure. That's a Primaris, I guess, and she is till his chest. Sisters of Battle in Power armor are taller or are as tall as normal man. If a fully fledged women of wh40k is 175, than she is 185 in Power Armor at best. They are not genetically engineered or modified. I'm not even sure if they are enhanced. The Astarte are usually 2.2m, 7'6 feet tall. If a Sisters of Battle is tall, and she is 1.9 or 2m tall, than yea I guess. But most Astarte dwarfs men, and women. A Primaris is even bigger than that. Looking at it, probably. But from close up, an Astarte is a beastly sight. They are wider than normal humans, and are unproportionally masculine.

This lore gap between every space marine chapter has only 1000 warriors and the loose rate in such videos, were they loose 3-4 up to a dozen of their troops in one charge vs a few enmies. There would be no chapter after one year of war.

Not to counter or argue your point, just wanted to mention that many of the SM's we see fall in battle aren't dead, but the Sus-an Membrane organs are kicking in. The SM's are supposed to be trained by their Apothecaries to the point when receiving a mortal wound, they instinctively activate the organ. It does save a lot of SM lives if the SMs are victorious in the battle, it's extremely useful for preserving the gene seed. This part I haven't been able to find a source on but have been told that when critically injured and dropped into suspended animation, the special cells from the Larraman's Organ that basically clot the wound in seconds, keeping the SM alive much longer in suspended animation. So when we see tons of SMs and CSMs falling in battle, most probably aren't dead, just critically wounded. And because who ever scripted the scene forgot SMs/CSMs are supposed to be a lot stronger. It bugs me when they show the super humans and chaos space marines being mowed down like chaff. Kind of like how no one ever seems to animate that the vast, vast, vast majority of Necron casualties dematerialize back to their Tomb World or Monolith or w/e for repairs. Necrons take extremely few permanent casualties, especially if they can flood the area with tons of scarabs, all but the basically obliterated Necrons will be repaired in seconds and come back to "life". They always leave out the coolest bits!

While are a bunch of trailers I like how on the last video the narrative gets portrayed from one character (sonoritas) into another (space marine) more series and Movies should be exploiting better this kind of move... (like having one protagonist 75% of the movie, sharing the protagonism both the last 25%, and them following the next one with the last one... This could work wonders for a w40K series, for example, you portray a story from a common citizen and you later move the story into imperial guard, sonoritas and others more elite such an astartes, It allows the chance to invest more money as it gets success and more fame (or makes the beggining easier to get financed) and gives room for a lot of stratum.
