This piece is amazing. So well programmed, mixed and orchestrated. Piano, despite being the point of reference to nearly all music formats, almost never sounds convincing in midi/notation. In the world of virtual orchestras the piano has a tendency to stick out like a thorn. It doesn't in this, it's super smooth. Effortless almost. Using the sustain pedal often too, which is even more impressive because midi sustain pedal for piano is *really* difficult to get right. Usually when I come across mockups and demos, they can have the best Piano library in the world but the moment they go near the sustain pedal the whole piece crumbles. The texture at measure 222 is just immaculate. I really love that support from the clarinets. BBCSO Pro mixes well with a lot of other libraries in general because they give you every mic option under the sun, but that said this video more or less proves to me that CS Piano fits better with BBCSO than their own BBCSO Piano. Thank you for the really kind comment! For the piano in this I turned off the close mics and substituted them with the spot ones. So Spot, Main and Room mics on. Close mics off. Also for piano I tend to stay under 60 velocity for quiet passages and rarely get to the highest velocities even for louder ones. This seems to help with the blending.
