I met my wife in Wichita while stationed there in 1968. This was one of our favorites songs. She suddenly passed in 2017 after nearly 50 years of marriage. This song takes me right back to when I met her. Thank you.

Such a beautiful song…perfectly enhanced. I found out today that Kenn Wingle passed away in January of 2022. After all this time waiting and wondering why he stopped posting his beautifully enhanced songs, I finally read a comment on his Keith 98.6 song confirming he had passed. Devastating news for me. He helped many of us relive the music we love from the 60s and 70s. He will be missed very much. Condolences to his family. Thank you Kenn. Rest in Peace my friend.

A winning hand-Glen Campbell’s vocal,Jimmy Webb’s songwriting,The Wrecking Crew’s playing and the magic of Kenn Wingle’s enhancements in making this 50-plus year old record sound oh-so-better than ever!JACKPOT!!!

Some of you may not know this but Glen was part of the Wrecking Crew at one time. An excellent, underrated guitarist.
@jamesmonroe79034 жыл бұрын
Dana James I knew about that,Dana! If my facts are right Glen was in The Wrecking Crew during their session work with The Beach Boys when that group asked him to tour with them after Brian Wilson was forced to give up touring due to his hearing/emotional issues. Glen was with The Besch Boys for six months and then went solo for good! Brian Wilson stayed on with The Beach Boys as their studio leader/composer and Bruce Johnston of The Rip Chords joined up as both a studio and touring member of The Beach Boys! PS-if my facts are still right,Bruce Johnston was the ACTUAL writer of Barry Manilow’s famous hit “I Write The Songs”! Lotsa folks don’t know that! I didn’t for years!

I was 12 years old when I first heard this song, also my first Glen Campbell song. At that young of age I didn’t understand why I really like this song but over the years I’ve grown to appreciate it more and more and finally today , at 64 now and listening to this remarkable recording, it warms my heart and soul, thank you!

My favorite lines ever, in any song. My 2nd favorite, written by Brian Wilson: "I may not always love you But as long as there are stars above you You never need to doubt it I'll make you so sure about it God only knows what I'd be without you."
@chaplainjoseph44444 жыл бұрын
I have always considered "Wichita Lineman" the best of Glen Campbell's work. And what a collection of interpretations concerning the adult themes of Jim Webb's writing he created. You have done a wonderful favor for all of us by putting your special touch to this unforgettable masterpiece. Thank you for sharing with everyone.

Absolutely beautiful and haunting song. One of my all-time favourites even though I was only 3! I grew up listening to lots of 60s music and the Beatles were my parents faves.

Glen was always one of my favorites and this song was at the top. I watched one of Glen's last performances when his alzheimers was really taking it's toll. Alzheimers is such a cruel disease and it was so sad to see such a great musician/singer go that way. RIP Glen.

Jimmy Webb's greatest song by far. Just an amazing, once in the lifetime melody. I can only imagine what he was thinking when he finally nailed the chord sequence....."SHIT YEAH!"
@cinematic354 жыл бұрын
Yeah--that song is pure musical GENIUS! To be able to create a melody that goes with the right chords and words is something to be wondered at. No one on the radio today can do it. In fact some of the disgusting rancor coming out of the radio I have heard better could be used as an initiation into a madhouse or an insane asylum! It really pisses me off. It would be better to close down the recording studios and radio stations than allow that kind of brain damaging noise fed to the public!
@Dana-wq5tp4 жыл бұрын
@@cinematic35 I agree 100%. The songwriting standards today are abysmal. Or at least what's making it to the mainstream airwaves. I'm sure there are artists who are genuinely talented, recording on their own and in all probability, will never go anywhere because they don't have the ability to get their music out to the masses. Very sad indeed.

I am usually against enhancing classics that do not really need enhancing,but The Music Enhancement Channel understands that, less is more. Most of the time the sounds blend perfectly. I have relative pitch, and can tell within thirty seconds whether something sounds fake. Keep up the good work!

This was not only a huge hit for GC but also won a Grammy for best engineered song of 1968. Would it have won if there was a serious flaw like too bassy a vocal? I don't know if you've tried to EQ the vocal but the bottom end of Carol Kaye's bass line here is very weak. And your guitar line's roughness stands out against the polished backing of the Wrecking Crew and string and horn sections. Why not just enjoy the original as it is? It sets a high standard.
