You're so very welcomed . I'm a huge Three Stooges fan from waaaaaaaaaay back . Any chance you could possibly do a video of Glen Campbell performing his cover of Conway Twittys " It's Only Make Believe " @@britt2001b

I am too! I still watch The Three Stooges with my dad who is now in his 90's. "It's Only Make Believe" is a great song and recording by Glen Campbell. I don't think I can add anything to improve it with a remix. The versions that I have sampled are all recorded quite well and I only endeavor into a remix if I feel there is a flaw that can be corrected. I could be tempted into doing a video but I'm more of a sound guy and I struggle with the videos. Also, I try to emphasize sound remixing on my channel. I usually add videos to my remixes because KZbin is a video platform and I feel the viewer deserves something more than a boring label to look at while listening. I could probably make the videos more entertaining if I were to purchase a more advanced video editing program. I currently just use a free program offered in Microsoft's Windows. My true passion is in sound remixing. I do appreciate your suggestion and please don't refrain to suggest more. I get a lot of my projects by suggestions like yours. Thanks again for listening. Sorry to be so lengthy in my reply!

Thanks, another great job! Love Glen Campbell and this song always immediately brings back so many memories of 1968 and the years afterward. Another member posted a remaster of Glen's version of "MacArthur Park" which actually brought his vocals to the forefront, previously almost smothered out by the strings and background singers (one of the worst original mixes I've heard), and did a really good job with that - but it you ever have time, that might be another good track to consider remixing too as you seem to have the ability to move the instruments and balances around. Anyway, thanks again for this and other great tracks you have remixed.

Thank you for listening and your very kind comment! It is greatly appreciated. I'll definitely check into this as "MacArthur Park" (Richard Harris version) is a favorite of mine and I'm ashamed to admit I have not heard Glen Campbell's version. 1968 was such a great and productive year. When you think and reflect on that year it is just unbelievable in the variety and productivity! In my opinion, there has never been a year like it!

Carol Kaye on bass, Jim Gordon on drums. Glen's vocals are exquisite. Perfect mix.

Thank you! I thought that was Carol Kaye on bass but I wasn't sure. After listening to it over and over while remixing, it did occur to me that it sounded like Carol. I'm a big fan! She has played on many, many hit records. Thanks for this info. It gives me pleasure now that I know it was her. I agree with your assessment of Glen's vocal that's why I did not want to touch it other than move it slightly to the center. I really think the dryness of it adds to this great recording. Thanks so much for listening!

Glen was a part of the Wrecking Crew. So I wonder if he got any say in picking the WC musicians he wanted for these tracks?

Such a beautiful song, sung by just the right artist. When I was a young teen, I had a boyfriend who learned to play this on his guitar for me, and I thought he looked just like Glen Campbell. All these years later, it still makes me laugh. ❤❤❤

If one were forced to select a single song that proudly wears the title of "AMERICAN MUSIC," this may be it. The lyrics evoke the great and open midwest, of a hard-working middle class guy, his passions and his dreams. Glen Campbell's performance can only be described as inimitable perfection. So far as the remix - again, Britt2001b has far outdone anything the professionals were paid to produce this song. It manages to wrest even MORE emotion from Glen's voice - something I thought impossible. But the biggest surprise is Jim Gordon's fantastic drum outro - now laid bare for us to clearly hear. This is no country-western 4/4 downbeat hack playing here. Listen to how intricate his patterns are...it makes you go back to the song and listen to what he was doing behind the singer. Thank you Britt2001b for elevating something long considered as high as it could possibly be. RipX!!!

Another winner. Agree on the vocals, with reverb it would get lost. Rick Beato has a nice interview with Jimmy Webb, who wrote this, along with many other GC hits.

Hmmm… I guess if I was a kid and coming to this song for the first time now, in 2024, the clarity of your mix would be preferable. But as a guy who grew up listening to this song on AM car radio coming through the single speaker of a 1965 Chevy Malibu, the murk of the original mix, those distorted strings, everything mashed together in a musical stew, just feels right. It’s like scanning and photoshopping and old photo - the aging and yellowing of the original has meaning and becomes part of the story. Great work, though. Don’t mean to knock your efforts. Thanks.
