1:58 actually that last one is a little incorrect. Universal was only the distributor for international markets while here in the US the distribution was handled by United Artist Releasing which is a subsidiary that is 50% owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The reason for that is because they own the original 1964 series. While yes Universal was involved the two recent Addams Family animated movies were more MGM. Infact even Wednesday even though the creators do have the rights, they still had to make this with MGM Television because of distribution. There are a few Addams Family properties that are exceptions to this. However they (MGM) technically did have a bit of a hand (pun intended) in making one of them. That project being the 1991 Addams Family movie. MGM's subsidiary Orion Pictures was on the verge of going bankrupt and feared Addams was going to be another flop with one of the reasons they fear being a flop was it going over budget due to rewrites. During the production they secretly sold the film to Paramount Pictures.
