Still think this is Lee's best film. No offense to MALCOLM X or nothing, but this film has never lost its power or its stylistic brazenness.

All the talks of making black communities better was from the heart. I just don't have the power to do so right now. Not everyone will like it, but many will. I think prosperous , not perishable . That's my black love

i wish they would go into the process a bit more, very interesting topic. how was the film timed differently, were they treating their lamps differently than with white actors, what kind of in camera filtration, it looked like they used lots of gold bounces was that a part of the lighting template?

This needs to be seen in 4K HDR for the full glory of all the saturated colors. Criterion needs to start thinking about putting out 4K UHD Blu-rays. If Flicker Alley could do it, so can Criterion.

Criterion do loads of these short videos..if there’s a longer version I haven’t spotted it on their blu ray release, so I’m thinking this is it. There’s plenty of other extras tho

It would be very challenging to grab the attention of the youth because many are programmed to see prosperity and knowledge through material things. So and so has a Lamborghini , with 5 bad chicks, and there for so and so know what they're talking about. The raggedy jeans, holy shirt man is automatically stupid. You know what I'm saying?
@viclee2053
@viclee2053 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying that so and so with the Lamborghini and 5 bad chicks can't be knowledgeable and socially conscious, of course all walks of life can be. What I'm saying is that there's a stigma and the youth have written off certain individuals because of what they see them as.

A movie where the main characters are all big bastards. Not trying to disriepect here. Even Danny Aiello has something.... may be the least of them all. But the way he does not educate his stupid son makes him somehow guilty of that bastardness of the fellar.
