When you mean camera motion do you mean “panning”?
@rioforce2 жыл бұрын
@@a.tbrickproductions4600 Panning refers to the rotation of a camera on an axis. But there are other types of camera motion too, like Dollying, Trucking, Tilting, Zooming, Handheld, and a few more. I recommend looking them up, they’re very interesting to learn about!

Thank you Rioforce. I have been studying a lot about cinematography these days and this video was a great addition. I am glad, as well, to see a video about cinematography concentrated towards brickfilming. Thank you once again and see you on your next video.

What do you recommend for post production? like making my legos fly and rig removal ? adobe after effects or something else ?
@rioforce7 ай бұрын
An image editor is suitable if you have no budget, You just have to do it one frame at a time. Something like GIMP or Photoshop Elements (which is cheaper than regular PS). Otherwise, AE would work, but I haven't personally used it. You can probably use Davinci Resolve to mask things pretty easily, if you know the program (I don't, so I can't help there). It's free, though, so worth looking into.

Hey Rioforce! The video's really cool! it looks like you used my "beauty of brickfilming" video for a lot of it, and that's really cool. The thing is I can't call it plagiarism (not that I would anyway) because my complication is basically just other people's work anyway.....but hey I'm really honored. Great video again 👌

I'd say that 180-Degree rule is a mistake. It makes the scene stiff and feel like it's just talking heads. Not something you want in most situations.
@rioforce2 жыл бұрын
Respectfully disagree. While not a hard and fast rule, without it, scenes can be extremely jarring, especially during two-shot dialogue scenes, which is its most general application. You can easily work around the rule by showing the logical progression of the camera from one side to the other. Just flipping sides suddenly disorients the viewer, as there is no point of reference for the viewer to ground himself with.
@mattpace10262 жыл бұрын
@@rioforce I think you might have some serious bias, man. I've heard dozens of others-some directly involved in cinematography and some not-talk about this topic, and I have never heard anyone other than you make the claim that the static scene is better. It's usually the opposite, as a matter of fact. Yes, there are plenty of situations where a static scene is called for, but those should be kept to a minimum, as repetition of such stiff moments gets boring quick. As for the "jarring shift" part, I really don't understand where you're coming from with that, unless you have no understanding of 3D space or object permanence.
@rioforce2 жыл бұрын
@@mattpace1026 LOL do you even understand the 180 degree rule? i never said anything about a static scene. Go watch a two shot conversation where the camera constantly changes sides of the action and be jarred. Heck, here's an example right here. Imagine this crap for a whole film: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqSUaGiFmN9jiac Maybe you just have a thing for being defiant and hating "rules" (which are more just guidelines of how to make a not unwatchable film), idk. But the rule isn't about making things boring, it's about making it cohesive. Breaking the rules is fine, it's just gotta have logic behind it.
@TheReverb1 Жыл бұрын
Man; not all the stop motion is with bricks; why not nothing about the rest?
