Love this series and this channel, been following for quite a while now... but I'd really, really love if you scrutinized the style of some great DPs that are in danger of being forgotten by time, like Jack Cardiff, David Watkin, Kazuo Myiagawa, Gilbert Taylor...

Great work and channel! An invaluable resource. If there was one suggestion it would be to initiate a Hall of Fame series in the mold of "Cinematography Style" for the old masters: John Alcott (1931 - 1986), Jack Cardiff (1914 - 2009), James Wong Howe (1899 - 1976), Robert Krasker (1913 - 1981), Robby Müller (1940 - 2018), Sven Nykvist (1922 - 2006), Vittorio Storaro (1940 -), Gregg Toland (1904 - 1948), Sergey Urusevsky (1908 - 1974), Haskell Wexler (1922- 2015), Freddie Young (1902 - 1998), Vilmos Zsigmond (1930 - 2016), etc. I'll admit to not having seen everything you have created, so some qualifying names may have been covered in some capacity, but I still think this could be a worthwhile endeavor ... especially if you could trace these master's influence to the work of present-day cinematographers. This list is merely meant as an incomplete inspirational rendering as there are many names missing. Sorry for the long post. Best.

@@WodiesDad same things as you probably possess but I bet it would be hard for you to get the same result as they without the gear

Would be impossible. But it’s not just the gear. It’s the people involved who have dedicated decades of their lives to the craft of filmmaking.

Crazy how you'd chose this cinematographer before so many others. It's just bullshit, all the footage looks like some sony a7 youtube, b-roll with terrible grading. I don't like gender based biases.
