Dune itself is inspired from the Middle Eastern story called Lawrence of Arabia!! It is not even human or animal or alien or a living being to begin with!! It's the manifestation of the Evil itself, like Satan from Biblical Stories!! It's as Ancient as this World, Kali was present since Satya Yuga (which I bet you don't even know what it is lol)!! And after all this you call Kalki a copy? Why? Just because it has Sand, it becomes a Dune ripoff? I agree that Complex Army Design is heavily inspired from Star Wars but that is the only heavy inspiration which can be almost called as copy!! Dune, Madmax has shit similar to Kalki!! Every Dyspotian Movies will have sand as it is basic knowledge that in future the water will be dried up on Earth, even oceans!! You can hear Prabas, Amithab, Kamal Hasan voice(can i just say his voice in Telugu is absolutely bonkers in this movie, i mean it's not the first time i heard him speak Telugu, i already watched so many of his movies) in Telugu, and the songs are made for it, so if want full experience, go for it, Prabas also dubbing his own voice in Hindhi, obviously, Amitham, depika voice be there also, but i feel lyrics are slightly off (compare to Telugu, but coney the same meaning) so go for it if you want that. Doesn't matter which version, this looks amazing already.

Watching Melanie and Kathy fawn over Prabhas is low key fun😂. The trailer gave me nostalgia when I went through the narration of Mahabharata as a kid, and just downloaded the Amar Chitra Katha version of the story and narration version to revisit the specific parts shown in the movie. I typed out a huge comment that's returning error when i try to post it all as one comment. so i'm gonna post it in 3-4 replies to this comment. it's my theories and what we know so far from all the promotional content of this movie.

(1/3) (i forgot to number these comments so these should help you out to read which one in what order) i felt heard here last time.. so i'm here back again.. cause i can't stop gushing about this movie but i have no one else to gush to, here's my spoiler theories. These are only my theories so if you don't mind potentially getting spoiled, you can read it whenever but if you don't want the fun to be spoiled, come back to this after the movie. Ok so i'm going to try and make this as organised as possible but there's just soo many thoughts that it might be impossible. My understanding of the basic plot of the story from promotional content soo far: There's 3 areas - The Complex : where all the resources are being sucked into (something like a planet harvester x1000 from apex legends if you know that game). Home to "raiders" and "Supreme Yaskin" and the antagonists. - Kashi : The first and last city on this planet.. almost about to collapse.. every surviving human seems to migrate towards it. Home to "Bhairava" and many of the bounty hunters. - Shamballa : The secret city of honest people who still believe in god and traditions. Home to the rebels and the place where "Kalki" will be born. OK so i mentioned a few terms and characters which i'll give a brief description about. -Bhairava: Prabhas's character. He's an infamouse bounty hunter(reference in both bujji series and first trailer). All he wants is to get into the complex somehow ,maybe because he seeks a life of luxuary with his girlfriend(oohhh disha patani's character). (Ok i didn't mention it. but bujji is obviously all over the promotional content so you guys know more about it than me but here's a brief anyway) -Bujji: Bujji is a small pilot bot that was destroyed in a fight with rebels on it's 100th mission. and then found by bhairava in a scrapyard outside kashi. he rebuilt it into a car. which might later be upgraded into a transformer dog kinda bot and potentially even die???. -Raiders: Basically henchmen of "Supreme Yaskin" or the current antagonist. -Rebels: Basically what it says on the tin. A group of rebels who oppose and steal from raider ships to provide for people in shamballa. Supreme Yaskin: OK *inhales* Basically the antagonist there's a lot that can be speculated but since this is the brief section, i'm gonna keep it short. Kamal hassan's character. Seems like he's an elevated/enhanced/ spiritually evolved being who is at the top of this world literally and metaphorically and socially and economically and every way shape or form. But let's make one thing clear he is not "Kali" himself atleast yet. Kali: The ultimate evil that's the reason for this world being in this state. The Main villain of this series at least i don't know if the cinematic universe can go beyond this story or how it will lead. but for the foreseeable future, he's the thanos.(He's not shown anywhere but he is within everyone more on that later.) Kalki: The saviour.. The prohecised 10th avatar of vishnu.. all hints suggest to the baby inside deepika padukone's character being him. Going to be insanely strong just as much if not more stronger than kali. did i miss something?? oh yeah.. Since other people here might not have the context of maha bharatam, i need to introduce some characters. Ashwathhama: Big B's character. He was born with a stone on his forehead which gives him immense powers. He was cursed by lord krishna at the end of the maha bharat war because he accidentally fired a "brahmastra" (the most powerful weapon according to lore and what the movie of ranbir kapoor is also named after) and couldn't take it back due to some reason. Krishna: 8th avatar of lord vishnu. and apparently could be referred to as the last appearance of the lord on this earth (the "6000 years ago ...power.." dialogue). he might or might not be the one who punched or kicked ashwathama soo hard in the flash back that he even caused the elephant to get knocked back. Sumati (Sum-80): Deepika padukone's character.. mother of supposedly kalki.. an experiment from complex who ran away. Vishnuyashas: Kalki's father according to the hindu scriptures.(Could be Dulquer Salmaan's character) Ok i think that covered most of the characters. a potential cameo could also include: one of the 7 chiranjeevis. my bet/eyes are on 2 Parashurama: He is the 6th avatar of vishnu waiting to teach the lost knowledge of warfare, righteouness, and all other divine knowledge to kalki.(yes, i know it's confusing that 2 avatars can exist simultaneously on earth, but Parushurama also appears in ramayana, the 7th avatar of Vishnu. This might challenge the idea of what an avatar is to the unacquainted.) Hanuman: I don't need to explain this one if you know Ramayana or watched hanuman the pvcu movie. *exhale*

(2/3) (i forgot to number these comments so these should help you out to read which one in what order) OK i will try to make this as short as possible. Known information: - Some sort of experimentation is going on in the complex in the name of project-K involving pregnant people. -The Complex wants Sum-80 alive. - Ashwatthama and shamballa wants sumathi/sum-80's baby i.e kalki safe and sound with them. - Bhairava tries to capture sum-80, fails, tells the right hand man of supreme yaskin that he'll get her back at any cost. and goes to fight ashwathhama again in shamballa.(might even be 3 fights) -There's gonna be a war in shamballa -also some people might have missed it idk how but there's clones/bodies which look bigger than normal people in the fetal position in pods in the room that Supreme Yaskin is in. My theories: 1) Ok One of the biggest thing that gets me hyped is that the movie might not actually be what everyone has seen already. If nagi (director) is ballsy enough, the movie might actually not end where we think it ends. He could actually make the shamballa war and bhairava and ashwatthama conflict the interval. and thee's an entire second half of the movie that we haven't even seen a glimpse of which will blow people's minds because there'd be still 1.5 hrs of content that nobody has a clue what it is.. although highly unlikely i wanna believe in this movie's balls. i wanna believe that there can be really really good mind blowing movies. 2) When it comes to the plot, there's soo much that i just wanna end this comment with 2 generalised areas of the plot. The obvious plot is the experimentation. This is gonna be a really disturbing part of the film. unless they play it really safe. But nobody wants it to be safe do they?? my mind goes to multiple places of what it could be. it could be yaskin trying to produce his offspring instead of a clone with supernatural powers or it could just be a perfect clone unlike his shrivelled up clones that he's managed to make soo far. either way if this is the route it's gonna go then what he's trying to create and will ultimately even succeed in creating would be kali.(which might have been hinted at in the first trailer when he said "don't worry a new era is coming") Another route the experimentation is happening is because he's trying to find kalki specifically to end him and just exist forever without any threat. In this scenario it's highly unlikely we are gonna get a kali or young kamal hassan and there's not really a strong reason for kalki to be born apart to kill him which i think literally anyone else can do. there's no need for god's special avatar. Diverting from what or why the experimentation is, I think one important character yet to be revealed is the character that will help sum-80 to escape from the grasps of complex maybe at the sacrifice of himself or herself. It's most likely Vishnuyashas father of kalki. He might be the lead researcher/scientist responsible for the experiment. and he accidentally created kalki instead of kali because he used his dna instead of supreme yaskin's intentionally or unintentionally and after learning that it's his baby, he will turn good and try to protect both sum-80 and kalki because idk it's still a scientific success that will be killed by yaskin if found out??. 3) Ok this theory just got into my mind while writing this comment which took like 1.5 hrs to write. The stones might play an important role in the plot. Maybe why supreme yaskin came into power and also why he's draining the earth is for these divine/mystical stones which grant power to the possessor. maybe in the past of the future that is future to the present there's gonna be a guy who accidentally discovers the stone's power and becomes yaskin who will overtake the earth due to finding more stones like this. we already saw 2 stones. 1)Ashwathama's head 2)in bujji and bhairava's series he finds a stone to create holograms. The bow that they showed might have contained the stone that yaskin found which might have been of krishna or rama or someone else. The bow might just be a hull which is why it's not like in a glass box or something. There might actually be 6 stones in each of the floating balls around yaskin and one in his head. so there can be around 10 stones in total. The "new era is coming" line can be a sign that yaskin actually managed to create kali and implant into it the power of all 7/8 stones that he possessed. the 8th stone's discovery being the reason of delay for why he couldn't do it until that particular line. or it might just be that he figured out a way to extract memories/ plans of how kalki was created from Vishnuyashas or his dead body. But he still doesn't want any future trouble for himself so he still wants kalki to be dead asap before he grows up. 4)And lastly one more theory i had was that there might actually already be multiple supreme yaskin clones each with different powers already on the complex protecting him and him only from any threat. by that i mean only the most important things like his main body, that room that he probably doesn't ever leave. and his most successful experiments/potential kalis. I don't want to spoil any anime so i'll put those in a reply for this comment. I think that's all of what i want to say. this could have easily been 3 youtube videos but i'm a shy coward person. so this comment will have to do. Anime Spoilers (this will be a short one since i don't need to explain it to the anime/manga waterchers/readers) Naruto Shippuden: The supreme yaskin floating balls come on it's a sage of six paths reference/influence soo direct.. might just be a coincidence and they pulled inspiration from the same source.. but it's soo obviously related and linked to buddhism and indirectly connected to hinduism. One piece: if you read the 2nd comment, the supreme yaskin clones i was referring to is something like Saterllites of vegapunk or gorosei for imu.

I watched the movie yesterday. and although most of my expectations fell flat... i have to appriciate the attempt. I am kind of disappointed in certain aspects but i am happy that they didn't ruin the movie as bad as aadipursh. Vfx were great. We can't expect hollywood level vfx for this small of a budget with soo many vfx shots. I won't say there's just one thing which makes me sad about this movie as it's an collection of a few(only few not many but very important) choices. 1) the casting of arjuna: Let me be super clear... this is my personal opinion. i just couldn't take this actor seriously after how much he's recently been trolled in our industry recently. i guess it's a fan service to his audience but i'm not one of them and i didn't need a fancy face. For me, arjuna wasn't this mad, he's a calm, and collected person.. but specially since there weren't like any other agitating factors, to irritate him, i didn't see the need for the angry dialogue delivery. 2)The voice of krishna: Ok.. another thing is i kind of hated the deep voice from krishna.. maybe it's the constant conditioning that krishna is a divine calm and composed and collected young man (cause he's literally the god and all knowing)... or maybe it's just i couldn't see the requirement of a deep voice for that stature... usually we are conditioned that villains or super villains have a base voice so this felt odd and outright repelling for me... but i had to purge those thoughts because of my devotion to the god. Also i heard that it was the voice of Anthony das which might be fan service to a few people but this in my opinion ruins experience of everyone to serve a few people's interest. 3)Plot: Ok my theories are here in the other replies.. so you know what i was expecting out of the movie in terms of plot.. but i am a malleable person if you give me a good plot.. and in no sense or shape am i insulting the current chosen plot.. but a lot of beats were expected even though we might not exactly know the details of hows at that point in the story. furthermore... sure you want to setup the world and also do the movie so you took your sweet time to do that... i get that, but i felt like the movie dragged alot to get to the point and only served to fan serve prabhas fans when your entire setup revolves around setting him up as the negative character.. And lastly there were a few cliches... like the villain with soo much power and control of the world being powerless and ignorant of people sneaking into the complex, being merciful to let them go, and also being over right stupid for the sake of plot. I HATE IT. no matter what you say you can't justify the villain with soo much power and aura of "All Powerful"/"A force to recon with" only to dismiss all that until the very end when the inevitable clash happens... a villain with soo much tech, money, power and control would have tight security and challenges which actually SHOULD challenge the protagonist. villain trusting his henchmen when he just had an attempted murder from one of his men is the most dumbest thing i've seen recently in any media he should be tightly monitoring his most important project himself after such a mishap. Basically what i would have suggested is you could have cut the fluff of the entire complex montage.. OR build it up more.. because i felt it was not enough or just crammed into the place. we didn't need disha patani's character if you are not gonna bring her up again. like if you don't care enough for a character, why should audience care?? and made the villans more intimidating because no where in the movie apart from post credit scene did i feel that we really had a threat. All that *nitpicking* said and done, I enjoyed the movie but i'm not going to be a repeat audience unless someone gives me a reason to. i'm not hyped to rewatch it because it felt like a one time watch. But it is an extremely risky attempt and well made movie. they didn't disappoint in the delivery of expectations. My rating is 90/100 Note: No hate to vijay devarakonda or anthony das. i just didn't feel like they suited the jobs they were given.. it's a casting issue in my opinion not their fault. i felt like nag ashwin tried to capture as many fan bases as possible in order to monetize the movie when what they should have actually done is polish the plot and scenes. Sure, i enjoyed the cameos but this is me as a telugu audience.. i doubt many people know rgv or rajamouli or mrunal or dulkar in north india to care for those cameos.

A lil' background: The scene at 4.33 where you see a warrior falls down to his knees with a flag or banner in his hand.. that was Ashwathaama(Amitabh B.) between 5000-3000 BC at the kurukshetra war in mahabharata towards the end of Dwaparyuga.. Satyuga and Dwaparyuga witnessed larger than life warriors with divine powers.. In this scene Ashwathama breaks down by seeing the destruction and loss of lives at the Kurukshetra battlefield. Ashwathama was a the son of Guru Dhronacharya who was a great warrior and was the teacher to both Pandavas and Kauravas.. Ashwathama was born with a gem on his forehead.. The kurukshetra war was between the Pandavas and Kauravas, 2 divisions from within the same Royal family for the Kingdom of Indraprasta and the injustice done to Pandavas by Kauravas.. Ashwathama had fought this war from Kauravas side. At the end of the war Pandavas had won and a frustrated and jealous and furious Ashwathama killed all the children of Pandavas.. He was almost abt to destroy the world with the Brahmastra that was blessed on him by the Gods.. But It was Sage Vyasa and Lord Krishna the 9th incarnation then of Lord Vishnu who had stopped Ashwathaama by cutting out the gem from his forehead and cursing him to roam earth for eternity with a bleeding wound.. after the end of Dwaparyuga began the Kaliyuga where we are now.. it is towards the last phase of Kaliyuga that cruelty and injustice and evil will be at its highest peak.. this is when Lord Vishnu will decend to our mortal world through his 10th incarnation KALKI who in this trailer is in the womb of Deepika Padukone.. Ashwathama's only salvation to be relieved from his agonizing neverending life is to protect Lord Kalki.. like Ashwathama, there are 7 more immortals walking on this earth now.. and they will all come together to protect Lord Kalki and be at his side.. By the way Prabhas here is Bhairava (an avatar of Lord Shiva and the protector of the city KASHI).. He will learn of Kalki and he will eventually become his follower.. At the end of Kaliyug the war will be between Lord Kalki and Kali (Kamal Hassan). This has been written in our Hindu holy scriptures between 3000 to 2000 BC.. They have even mentioned the names of Lord Kalki's parents and the place where he'll be born.. They say he will come riding on a white horse which can take any form.. and he will carry a sword and he will annahilate all evil and restore Dharma (righteousness).

Hope this helps in understanding. from India. It draws from the events at the end of the epic Mahabharata and the Mahabharata war in which the previous Avatar of Vishnu or Krishna is present as the charioteer and projects it to the next or 10th and final Avatar of Vishnu that is Kalki and to the imagined events of his birth at the end of Kali Yuga or the Age of Darkness. As per ancient Indian scriptures Kaliyuga starts with death of Krishna and ends with Kalki who destroys darkness and restores balance to the world and creation. Comparing it with anything else except a few stylisations is missing the point. If you really want to get the context read a little into at least the Mahabharata and the concept of yuga though at most places you will find wrong idea of timelines. The Character of Aswathhama (old man) played by Amitabh Bachhan is a character of Mahabharata who was cursed with immortality for his crime of killing unborn children in the mothers womb. Yes in Hindu tradition immortality is a curse as it prevents you from renewing yourself. Aswathhama lives through 6000 yrs to protect the unborn child that is destined to be the 10th Avatar Kalki and be released of his curse of immortality and bringing his Karma full circle. Madhava is another name for Avatar Krishna. If there is anything else you want to know of the scriptural or historical/ Puranic context pl do ask. Yes Mahabharata and Puranas are part of history in the Dharmic tradition and most Indians believe this to be true in parts if at times not whole owing to distortions of time.
