It's amazing how much emotion an animated movie can have, it can draw you in and tell the story, no matter what the spoken language.

I saw this movie when it came out in theatres. I was 12, and became obsessed. I had the movie on VHS and watched it hundreds of times....and still even today, I cry when Simba finds Mufasa dead. This is one of the rare Disney movies where the DAD dies instead of the Mom. 😅

Fun Fact: Jeremy Irons who played Scar damaged his vocal cords while voicing him so Jim Cummings took over for him.

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart. Especially the fact that Scar gaslights Simba into thinking it was his (Simba's) fault and Jonathan Taylor Thomas' line delivery. Also, I am very glad they cast James Earl Jones as Mufasa. As much as I respect the actor, they almost cast Christopher Walken. Side note: Some of the character's names have meanings translated out of Swahili Simba: Lion Nala: Gift Mufasa: King Sarabi: Mirage Rafiki: Friend Pumbaa: Slow-Witted Zazu: Movement Shenzi: Savage Banzai: Skulk or lurk Taka (Scar's original name): Dirt or Garbage Timon (His name actually comes from Greek): Respect or Honor

I don’t know if this is true or not, but I heard somewhere that Liam Neeson and Sean Connery were considered for Mufasa, and Tim Curry and Malcolm McDowell were considered for Scar.

@@joedesena5402 I could see Tim Curry as Scar. He plays a villain really well and can sing like a dream, but I'm ultimately glad Jeremy Irons was cast. Same with Liam Neeson and sean Connery as Mufasa.

I've seen this movie a hundred million times. It's my favorite movie of all time. Yet, without fail, everytime I watch the stampede scene, I STILL cry. I love your grandmother's line about Scar: He should die in his place. ...same, Grandmama...same. 😢😭 ...I guess the movie would have been too short if it had gone that way, but still...I would have done it. ✌

I think she just thought he was joking because he farted so much. 'Gas' means different things in other languages.
@XennialTV11 күн бұрын
@@1faithchick7 Gas does not mean different things in different languages. Gas is literally gas, in some languages it's used as *slang* for other things but the word itself means what it means. That's why the joke works, animals fart gas, stars are made of gas, gas is gas.
