Funny thing is, I realized recently Tai Lung was CONSTANTLY stretching and exercising in prison. That position he was forced in required a really strong core and muscles in his arms that never got overstrained and would have pulled OFF his arms from the boulders in 20 years. And apparently although Po was never able to, the dragon warrior was expected to need minimal sustenance to maintain themselves for incredible periods. Tai Lung appears to live that legend. There were no mechanisms in place keeping him upright in that position. A normal person would’ve been flat on their gut with no way to move with that turtle shell keeping his pressure points locked down. So long as his reflexes were maintained from prior to his getting locked up, it’s why he came out stronger quite effortlessly.

Bro the furious five almost beat Tai lung and by the third movie, Tigress Atleast, far surpassed Tai lung. It’s pretty blatant. I like to think that Kai has to manually control the jombies to an extent, and that's why we see him getting knocked around when the jombies get hit. Cos considering at the start when they (kai and oogway) were fighting, oogway was captured and then he spoke “it was never my destiny to stop you, i have sent another on that path”. Oogway had accepted his fate and let kai take his chi. So even if oogway was released he wouldnt break free cos he had accepted that kai had taken his chi and he was helpless. Of course oogway had great power, but again tai lung. Yes tai lung if he was used he could have broke out, and i think he would also go against kai if he did. But i dont thinks so about oogway. This honestly makes perfect sense. Tai Lung was one of the strongest Martial Artists in the entire series, and as we saw in the first movie he took down basically every Traditional fighter excluding Oogway. I don’t think Po was stronger than Tai Lung but his unconventional fighting style is what was able to beat him. In the movie, the more jade pendants kai is using, he gets stronger in skill and physically. I believe he never used Tai Lungs chi because having it on him gave him power, same as Oogway. You can see that the stronger someone's chi is, the stronger kai gets when he keeps their jade pendant on him.
