"The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (2002) 2. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001) 1. "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003)

'Your' personal favourite movies from 2000s that were nominated are shit. Curious Case is good. Gladiator is shit. LoTR is very good.... But where is Moonlight and Parasite?
@smit44592 жыл бұрын
"To each their own" Siddharth. "Moonlight" and "Parasite" came out in the 2010s, not the 2000s. Ridley Scott directed four of my favorite films: 4. "Exodus: Gods and Kings" (2014) 3. "Blade Runner" (1982) 2. "Alien" (1979) 1. "Gladiator" (2000)
@Kieslowski19892 жыл бұрын
@@smit4459 First, Sorry, I didn't see the 2000s being mentioned... I thought you're talking about 2000-2020. Blade Runner is the only good Ridley Scott movie, Alien is like above average. And I personally feel that the best movies of 2000s have been foreign cinema. But yes, they never won the best picture Oscar. Parasite did though. If only this was implemented some years ago, many other deserving movies would have got it. Like just think Gladiator in 2000 was up against world cinema like In the mood for Love, Yi Yi, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Requiem for a dream, Almost Famous..... So if all countries were included, I doubt Gladiator would've won it.

90s is also my favorite decade in terms of cinema!
@Kieslowski19892 жыл бұрын
90s was too good to be exact. For me, the best decade would have been the 60s followed by the 90s. But yes, Movies like Schindler's List, Pulp Fiction, The Shawshank Redemption, Goodfellas, Trainspotting, Reservoir Dogs, Being John Malkowich, Matrix, American Beauty, Usual Suspects, Dances with Wolves, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, The Truman Show, Se7en, Primal Fear, 12 monkeys, The Sixth Sense, Before Sunrise, Fargo, The Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven, L.A Confidential were very good.... But that was not it... We also had movies from other countries like Sátántangó from Hungary, La Haine, Beau Travail from France, Italy gave us Life is Beautiful, Japan gave us many Studio Ghibli movies, Hong Kong gave us a fair few great ones like Farewell my Concubine, Comrade, Fallen Angels... China also had some good ones and so did my own country, India. And then we move to Taiwan with A Brighter Summer Day and finally Iran with Taste of Cherry, Through the Olive trees, The Wind will carry us, Life and nothing more and Close Up. Even Poland came up big time with Kieslowski.... His colours trilogy and double life of Veronique were very good.... My personal favourites would be 10) Pulp Fiction 9) Goodfellas 8) Princess Mononoke 7) Farewell, my Concubine 6) Colours trilogy 5) Schindler's List 4) Sátántangó 3) A Brighter Summer Day 2) Close Up 1) La Haine
